Paraphrasing, Joy said that one of the people closely involved knows more than they have said. I wouldn't disagree with that.

But my question would be this, and it genuinely makes me think maybe my gut instinct is wrong in this case. Imagine you have, for example, made a mistake, got involved in something accidentally or deliberately which you then cover up successfully.

You are in a position to fade away into oblivion, ie no one in authority suspects you or even if they do there is no way to prove it or it would have been done...would you really continue to bring attention to yourself or the case?

yes we've all seen parents on tv pleading for a missing child to come home ( the Karen Matthews case) or for info to 'find the killer' ( the Philpotts) , who have been guilty of the crime themselves but that has always been in the initial week/s not years later...?
