At least when he realises it's his human he comes down again

He has come from being an entire feral tom cat. It is a big transition.

He'll calm down.
Betty still runs upstairs when 'stressed' by someone knocking at the door.

She was born here, and is 12 this year.
In all that time, not one person has entered that door and hurt her! :-S

Jacky Milburn, the new cat, is still learning to be a pet pussy and uses upstairs as his bolt hole when he is spooked by something, and there are many, many things.

Each morning he gets up with Saint Daddy who gives him his meat and goes off to work while he gets his head down on the chair and I finish my cup of tea in bed (isn't retirement hard?!).

When I come down, the strange noise on the stairs spooks him and he dashes up them, passing me on the way!

He then turns round and comes down the stairs shouting "Wench, get my meat now!".
