If anybody is interested, Oxfam have a sale on. That Maurice Beresford book I have been deliberating over for ages was in it and at 70% you can't not buy it can you?

So, if anybody is on the lookout for reading matter, there is a place to go.

Morning Sharron, Been years since I was in the Charity shops, but before my injury

I'd regularly look in, for a browse. I used to make a point of buying a pile of Mills &

Boon books for my Aunt May, an avid reader. Memories. :-)

These are available on-line, David.

Have a look, fill your boots.

Was that your birthday money? You know how to live :-D
Seriously, you must be so chuffed to have been able to indulge yourself. Well done.

No,it was my heating allowance. I bought the cat with some of it too.

Now I am worried that my spending is getting out of hand!

Sharron Report 6 Apr 2018 11:53

Actually, it was not just the one. All the girly stuff. One about the medieval economy, the history of air pollution, manorial records, me and my fripperies!

Oooh - you spendthrift, you! :-0

..though I may interrogate you about places that may be in the manorial records - what wiv me new-found aristocracy *sniff* :-D :-D

They wouldn't be hanging around manors. It would be all castles and stuff for your lot, or council flats with oak doors!

I don't need Mills & Boon any longer thanks Sharron, I lost Aunt May in 1996

True, we may have had a couple of castles, but my Michell's may have had manors!
The Carminows definitely did!

Oak doors aren't all they're 'supposed' to be.
I lived in an ag lab cottage with an oak door.
Problem was, no-one oiled it for years, and in the snow of 1982, we had a snowdrift in the front room :-S

I haven't a clue where our Oxfam shop is now. It used to be on my route to work and I popped in now and then at lunchtimes.

It moved ... and I found it but, sadly, it has moved again and I know not where it is!

Our little city is turning into a mess. :-(

....visions of a shop getting up and running away!! :-D :-D :-D

Makes it more of a challenge to spend all that money if you have to hunt down the store first.

One book has come. It is the one I wanted most, to replace one I left somewhere and can't remember where.

I have already bought one to replace it but, what I bought as a late reprint was a first or second edition which did not have the extensive appendix that was added later.which contained the bit that was particularly relevant.

Good thing my interest is only ephemeral!

True story about Oxfam. Some scruff took a shirt and a suit into a changing room, put then on. He hung his own clothes on the hanger, on the rail, and walked out. :-0 :-|
