Do you use a wine rack if you like dry wines?

Caroline

Caroline Report 12 Apr 2018 23:22

I have received a PM asking am I " Mrs Bucket" tsk tsk :-|

Anyone that truely knows me will know full well, if I had paid nearly 400 nicker for a bottle it wouldn't of been hid in a cupboard it will be on full display left up right in front of the display wine rack ;-)

Maggie, with some of the wine I drink you have to be careful in using it in cooking. We have a gas cooker and if the wine fumes get too close to the naked flame, or you spill some on the hob, the whole house would go up in flames :-D :-D

And Madge I would have loved to see her face when that bottle was given away...actually more his if he found out how much it cost!

I've mentioned this on the boards before.
I actually drink S********* 'cheapo' plonk, which comes in a plastic bottle.
This isn't because I'm a cheapskate, I've had all sorts of wine, from Portuguese 'plonk' to expensive, 'wood matured' wine - which was foul.
I like my whisky 'wood matured', but not my wine :-(
I actually like the taste of S*******, it's only 10.5% (I don't like getting drunk) and a plastic bottle is easier to bring home in my rucksack - and easier to recycle :-D

Anyhoo. I was selecting the wine of my choice, when this very 'plummy' voice behind me asked: 'What is wine from a plastic bottle like?'
I replied: 'Personally, I drink it from a glass, but each to his own' :-D

I turned around to see a lovely looking elderly lady behind me (nothing like her voice), so smiled, and went on to say, at THAT price, she may as well try it.
If she didn't like it, she could always use it for cooking :-D :-D :-D
