I used to work with a women and her husband both in their late 40's. Mr Bucket was very down to earth chap happy with his lot in life, salf of the world and adored Mrs Bucket.
Mrs Bucket however always seemed to be looking for more. She lived well beyond their means however she was very canny and a right grafter and so was he. Their daughter had married and the new son in law's family were from money. This was often and at times the only topic of her conversation. She was sometimes invited through the daughter to little social gatherings these were the highlight of her life. So you can imagine Mrs Buckets delight when near to last Christmas she was invited independently to a wine evening through her daughters new mother in law's friend (who happend to be a wine merchant) wine party. Mrs Bucket talked of nothing else for weeks, we went through looking then shopping and then the cost and buying the right outfit. We had all guessed what sort party this was. It was a wine tasting and buying party. Not to be out done Mrs Bucket joined in with gutso. The days after were a nightmare for me and my colleagues.She again talked us through the evening the quality of the wine the cost and so on. I asked so did you buy any? Of course she said. I asked don't they normally come in the create load she said they did and she had ordered just 1 create but we are talking in the hundreds she had arranged for it to be delivered to her daughters. She was so excited to going to getting her posh wine all day.When she went to pick up her expensive wine she was devastated that she had paid just under £400 for just 1 bottle. She took the wine home and hid it in a cupboard from Mr Bucket and she told us she was saving it for Christmas just in case the son in laws family popped over for a christmas drink. We had a christmas charity raffle at work on the last day before the holidays, imagine Mrs Bucket face when the raffle was drawn, top prize a laptop, then TV, tablet, next came the donations from other members of staff, linx sets book tokens, boxes of chocolates and a lovely bottle of wine from Mr Bucket. ;-)
