Reading the thread about Walnut Whips has reminded me that the vanilla crop on Madagascar, where a good three quarters of the worlds supply is grown, has been hit by natural disasters which means that for the next few years the crop will be very expensive and of a lesser quality.

They will still inflate the price when the crops recover
Once the price goes up it will never come down :-(

Most products use synthetic vanilla anyway.
