They have an outside light on their illegal 'office' - that's what they call. It's illegal because they don't have planning permission and it's double layer breeze block with insulation - covered in wood so it looks like a shed, double glazed, with a woodburner. This light points towards the house - and quite often shines straight into the spare bedroom window.

Why do these people think we want to know they're there?

Oh yes - when they 'close' the front door, my radiator shakes and rattles :-0 :-0
I've tried closing my (exact) door hard enough to make my radiator rattle - and I can't :-0

One of the sons had a motorbike for a time - but he's very adept at revving his car.
Oh - and slamming more doors than there are in the house :-| :-|

OMG I've got their relatives next to me...do yours turn the radio up so they can hear it over their lawnmower?

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 3 Jun 2018 23:26

I regard it as repayment for having to listen to their radio when they're out in the garden, and the 'private' phone calls they make (outside) at 98 decibels :-D :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 3 Jun 2018 22:12

Oh maybe I should do that with one side of mine then........ :-D

My neighbours had a treat yesterday :-D

On our family holiday this year, we're having a family gathering 'Pirate' day, in honour of our illustrious forebears.
Eldest daughter was in Cornwall this time last year, and saw a band singing sea shanties.
She wondered if we could do this on Pirate day.
Ooooh Yees! :-D :-D

So, yesterday, younger daughter was here on her way home from holiday, and I was looking after elder daughter's sons whist she was at work.
When eldest came to pick the boys up, we had about an hour of practicing.

It was a hot day, all the windows were open, and we sang with gusto, even though none of us can 'sing'.

'Trelawney' went down very well - though not a shanty, it's 'our' song :-D :-D

Had another go on You Tube yesterday.

I know I like the Pastoral Symphony, I have always had it in my van or car, so I thought I would try another bit of Beethoven. Put on the Moonlight Sonata and found it dull, dull, dull, so I wen to one that was called 'Relaxing Beethoven' and guess what was the first thing to be played!

OH has some Rachmaninov on at the moment but it's not Karl Denver!

It doesn't really matter what I am singing along to, it still sounds like a bad version of Karl Denver's Wimoweh!
