Dear All

Hello

One year ago, earlier this evening, a tourist guide bus was travelling across London Bridge, an elderly couple were walking home, shops pulled down their shutters, and people were sitting outside and inside pubs and restaurants.

About 10-00pm, a van travelled along London Bridge and went onto the pavement, knocking people down.

Three terrorists got out and began indiscriminately attacking people, just by Borough Market.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ambulances were called at 10-07pm with police alerted at 10-08pm.

Meanwhile, as the attackers moved through Borough Market, some people tried to fight them off by throwing crates, chairs and glasses.

Police arriving on the scene started to evacuate the area or make sure nearby pubs were locked down to stop the men getting in.

Eventually, the three terrorists were caught and shot.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eight people were killed in the attack:

30-year-old Canadian national Chrissy Archibald,

Australian Kirsty Boden, 28,

Australian Sara Zelenak, 21,

James McMullan, 32, from Hackney, London,

French national 26-year-old Alexandre Pigeard,

French National Xavier Thomas, 45

Chef Sebastien Belanger, 36,

Spanish national Ignacio Echeverria, 39.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

48 people were injuried, including a British Transport Police officer who confronted the attackers outside London Bridge station armed only with his baton.

An off-duty Metropolitan Police officer was also seriously injured.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today London remembers the people who were so needlessly killed,
those injured and all those who defended us.

It is also a fitting tribute to recall how many people tried to carry on as usual
and to remember the emergency volunteers helping others practically
as the whole area was closed off for several days.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take gentle care
Elizabeth, EOS
