Ohhhhhh so now the fast forward is only for saved shows gotcha cos none of us knew we could fast forward recorded shows LOL

I like watching adverts and deliberately misunderstanding them makes it more fun.

And the adverts for shampoo that is 'gluten free'

I don't eat/drink shampoo and I wouldn't think those people who are gluten intolerant would either :-S

If there is something else that I have missed with regards to the advantage of it being 'gluten free' then please let me know :-D

I agree, Det.
What I find surprising is that yogurts (and varieties thereof) still use nonsense words to justify their wares - same with hair products and make up/moisturiser.

I bought a hair product last week - because I use it, not because I saw it advertised.
I thought it was being honest, when, whilst in the shower (minus specs) I saw what I thought said Pro-vitamin BS.
Unfortunately, it said Pro-vitamin B5. :-(

I was never enamoured of the Sky package we had but, now it has been updated I quite like it.

It really doesn't matter to me whether you can fast forward television but it does get YouTube and I have background music all day long and sometimes in the evenings too when the television is showing the usual repeats.

We are actually getting our money's worth with this one.

We may be subconsciously indoctrinated by adverts although 95% of the time, they have the opposite effect.

MaD or other fast food outlets. No thanks.
Painkillers? A generic version is cheaper & just as effective.
New car? How often do we buy one of those?
Perfumes & make up? Too low maintenance to bother.
Clothes? Unsuitable for someone short & overweight.
Holidays? We prefer to ‘do our own thing’.

Since the children left home, I can honestly say we’ve not bought something because it’s been advertised.

Phone companies have been trying to 'peddle' VOIP for over 4 years.
I think you'll find VOIP will be used alongside landlines, and not replace them.
Why? Here are a few reasons:
1) Some VoIP providers still will not allow you to call the emergency services
2) Some international destinations are restricted.
3) If you were to suffer a power failure or a loss of internet service you would not be able to use VoIP – or even inform your ISP that the service was down, unless you had a mobile phone.
4) As most people have ADSL broadband, you will still need to pay line rental.

...so less of the brainwashing please! :-D

Remember the demise of the cheques?
They were (apparently) DEFINITELY going - strange, we can still use them.

My coffee hadn't kicked in so I wondered if it was me....but if we all just fast forwarded as we actually watched the live broadcast how would that work??? If I watch something via my computer sure I can miss the advert with the right softwear but it's not live with adverts!!

The whole of the UK has been brainwashed over Brexit.

Our handset only has a fast forward function for recorded, paused or downloaded items. It doesn't work when something is being broadcast at that moment.

Advert breaks are great - time to put the kettle on, empty the bins or go to the loo :-D

"Your TV handset has a fast forward facility which is pretty ez to use"

Umm no it doesn't!

Call me a Luddite, but as my TV works perfectly well, I've never considered buying a new one, just so I can 'fast forward' the ads, or watch 'catch up'.

with programs being padded out with 10 minutes of program and 10 minutes of inane adverts..one hour episodes of silent witness or waking the dead are now "Feature length" 2 and a half hours....at times..
edit...

are we being conditioned like goldfish to accept only 10 minutes of concentration, at a time?
remember when in a cinema we would watch a film for 1- 1 1/2 hours, in length

to me, once you've seen an advert 2 or 3 times... the message doesn't get through any more....its like warning signs you just don't notice them...
