100 aircraft will fly over London today to celebrate the RAF's centenary. It's at 1 pm BST.

Happy Birthday to the RAF

There are many who gave their lives in the RAF.

Lest we forget

I'll be watching...the flight path to Buckingham Palace should take them right over my house :-D

My Grandfather was in the Royal Flying Corp in WW1 which in 1918 became the RAF and was there at its birth..... I'll be remembering him especially <3

Brilliant, a fantastic tribute to all who serve/ served in the RAF! For all those who gave their lives protecting this nation, in particular my late father 1914-1942 who lost his life over the Netherlands before I was born. God bless them all.

Kense Report 10 Jul 2018 11:19

Actually the Birthday was on April 1st. Today is 100 years and 100 days from the creation of the RAF. Happy birthday anyway.

This is the biggest flypast over London since the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain flypast of 1990. and will consist of more different aircraft types.

I know Kense but the powers that be decided to celebrate today. I was at the 50th anniversary. The Red Arrows were at RAF Benson for a few days and caused a problem with the aerial on the med centre :-S. Display for the 50th in front of the queen at RAF Abingdon.

As ex RAF we are immensely proud to have served, they were so good, those on parade and those in the air.

There were newbies amongst those on parade with no rank showing so they were straight out of basic training. Thought it was great for a woman to be in charge of the parade :-D

That was fabulous!!

We watched it out of the window, and then on the tv. There was a gap of about 30 seconds after they roared past.

:-) <3

What a fantastic show! Made you heart swell with pride! Brilliant that women are fully integrated into the force. God bless them all and the Queen!

We took the grandson and had a fabulous day. Well done all concerned. St James's and Green Parks were absolutely banged out with the crowds, as was The Mall. Must have been tens of thousands or more.

Some of our friends went to Colchester to see the planes come over there. They tell me there were crowds there. It looked impressive on television and the timing and the formations were superb.
