Be aware if you get a phone call claiming to be from BT telling you they are going to suspend your Broadband service it is a Scam. They are also telling you that even if you are with Sky , Virgin etc they all use BT lines, they do not. They ask you to turn on your computer so that they can correct the faults which are to do with your Broadband speed etc. I have spoken directly to BT and reported this to them.

Had an email yesterday regarding the same thing - just deleted it.

Something a person could easily fall for, especially if they’re already having Broadband problems.

I had a call claiming to be from Talk Talk (who I used to be with).
I informed him I (a) didn't have and internet connection, and (b)wasn't with Talk Talk, told him to take my name off his list.

Five minutes later - another call, sounding suspiciously like the previous caller, this time, apparently from BT.
I asked him what he didn't understand about not having an internet connection - it's not compulsory - that I wasn't with BT either, and to **** *** :-D

I get them regularly. Some recorded, some by a gentleman with a foreign accent. I have probably had six in the last week.

Iv'e had two calls on consecutive days both at around 12:15 midday when I am in the throes of making the midday meal..got sarcastic with the first one and he hung up, and tried to lead the second up the garden path a bit, and he went away....LOL
got onto talk talk who gave me the only numbers they use to contact customers...nothing like the glasgow numbers i had just been called from...yeah they are all foreign accents to me...

“This is a BT Security Department alert. Your computer has been hacked and your personal details....” recorded phone call. They never got further than that.

Oh well, at least the ringing phone got OH out of bed :-D

I got a call from a man recently wanting to know about my internet speakers (?)

I told him I'm more than once reported to BT on 150 problems i was experiencing

with my BT Hub. His reply didn't make sense (to me) he said 150 knew nothing about

the Hub and that I should phone 0800 1112345687 ??
