Today would be our 61st wedding anniversary

We managed 58 which was more than some couples get so am grateful for those happy years

It's been a bit emotional all day . Have had a few welled up eyes and lump in the throat moments especially as have had lots of family messages on Facebook

I know Michael wouldn't want me to be upset so have tried not to go there

Doesn't get any easier even though one tries to plod on .

Wow! Married in 1957. Things have changed a lot since then.

You you able to tell us about your wedding day?

What was the weather like? How many bridesmaids? What were the dresses like? and the hats/flowers/ etc

My t.v. indulgence (i.e. guilty pleasure) is watching programms about choosing wedding dresses (from New York, Atlanta, England and Ireland) Find it all interesting, if sometimes a bit bewildering.

You must treasure the photos that you have, you can take them out to peruse, along with your memories, anytime that you want.

Your memories must have been bittersweet, Shirley, and of course you would get emotional at times. It wouldn't have been natural otherwise, but as you said, Micheal wouldn't have wanted you to be upset. The years you had together were full and varied and you made many memories to recall and smile about. Knowing you still have lots of support must be comforting and I hope that will continue.
