Won't be around much until sis and all go back so I hope all goes satisfactorily, Fly, and you are happy with the result.

Off to do some ironing. Stripped the bed this morning and washed the sheets, need to iron the pillow cases and top sheet - they are cotton so crease when washed.

Bye all have a lovely week. See you all next week and do something about today's thunder storms :-0 ;-) :-D :-D <3 <3

Don't usually have to heat the water as we have solar panels. Think we had to use the immersion twice last winter.

I did, thanks Fly. <3 :-D

A week's cruise with a cuz followed by a get-together with other cousins ...

And now back to reality. :-D

We always enjoy going to the matches, Pat, as the atmosphere is brill. I expect that's why people still go to footy even though ticket prices have gone through the roof. :-D

We didn't have any in quarters until 1976 but moved to our own place the next year. All the houses we had after that until this one had central heating. We don't have it here, we use a mobile gas fire, oil filled radiators in our bedroom and the landing and turn the air conditioners to heat rather than chill for the 3 months we need heat.

Pat there was no central heating in this house until the 1990's :-0

My parents had gas in the house when they bought it in 1947, they had the gas pipes removed.

1965 my father decided to put gas central heating in also in the August time. It will only take a few days they said. Interiors done in a few days just the connection to the outside pipe.

Outside pipe corroded so they went into the street - whole street gas pipe in dangerous condition, all had to be replaced. Our garden wall collapsed and the newly laid tarmac had a long scar the length of the street . It was already for winter though. :-D
