No sense of humour some people :-D ;-)

What annoyed me was that, whoever reported me, could not just e-mail me and discuss what they thought.

They are everywhere with their horrible dabby fingers!

Maybe it was the last sentence they didn't like. The one that went,"and, then, when they come back, stab them all to death and set fire to their vehicles, that'll larn 'em!"

If the Hooray Henry's are parking across a dropped kerb, they are breaking the law and can be prosecuted. I got a ticket once for parking in a similar position even tho I was only across the first two inches on one side and also I knew the people renting the house didn't use the drive. Turned out the landlord came round and called the police on me.

Now I am always very careful by dropped kerbs and driveways.

I don't really know but I think they had asked them not to park there.

The sea does funny things to people.

Horseboxes as in a lorry not a towed box ?

A polite notice to start with about parking then take it from there.

Sharron

Sharron Report 8 Aug 2018 17:19

Yes,probably.

Are the horse boxes empty?
If so, why don't they drive a car?
Would they drive a horse box to T*sco's to get their shopping?

I don't think I can because I have come off it now.

It is just one of those seaside things I think, especially with the current weather.

It will certainly all have blown over by the time the MPor whoever gets round to dealing with it.

Can you give a link?

Our neighbourhood website has been running a campaign over commuter street parking v the Station carpark. They’ve successfully gained resident only parking permits for use before 10am. It’s only pushed the commuters further afield. They might see a traffic warden once in a blue moon, but at the ‘wrong’ time of day! The chances of anyone responding to a phone call are minimal.

Might be illegal but, if they are blocking a driveway and on a corner and their vehicles cannot be moved, they are highly likely to call the law are they not?

"Oh, occifer, please come immediately. Our two illegally parked vehicles have had their tyres deflated".

Horse boxes with flat tyres would be so easy to push to where they would be legal, a long way.

Anyway, it was a naughty suggestion and I was told off but I really could not be bothered to argue so I left.

You will probably see it on the news about the horse boxes the fuss they are making.

Parking within 10m of a junction is illegal. Blocking someone’s driveway, unless there are parking restrictions, is not.
Letting the air out of a vehicle’s tyre is illegal, but the chances of being caught are minimal!

There is a downside to that - the added time it would take for them to pump up the tyres. Let too much out & the vehicles weight could damage them. That could be classified as criminal damage.

Crikey!
Bit of an over the top response :-S
Perhaps the 'Hooray Henry's are on the forum. :-|

We have a sort of community set-up on-line which would appear to me to be mostly people who have moved into the villages around and don't want their dream bespoilt. They have been up in arms and had meetings and all sorts of things because some gypsies have bought a field and applied for very detailed and honest planning permission and even offered to sell the land if their request is refused. I wish everybody kept so carefully to planning laws!

Anyway, somebody in one of the seaside villages has posted that a group of Hooray Henries turn up in their road in two horse boxes, which they park, one half across somebody's entrance and the other on a corner, to go in the sea and party on the beach. They were asking what they could do as the yuppies will not stop. Naturally, people suggested council, police, MP and bloody Superman!

I suggested letting a tyre down, match in valve, simples, as the inconvenience would dissuade them more than the threat of authority which they know as well as I do, have bigger fish to fry.

I have been reported and received a message about suggesting something illegal.

I just told them to leave it out and came off the forum.

If nobody is inclined to come out to two illegally parked vehicles, I really don't see that a flat tyre is going to lead to any kind of legal action, but what do I know?
