She was slated by the press and very unkindly compared to Diana

She tried to fit into the royal family but she made many royal gaffs that the stuffed shirts just wouldn't accept

She still lives in the same household as Andrew and I think they are together but not married

The stuffed shirts will never forgive her trying to be herself that didn't fit in

It's said that prince Phillip has no time for her at all as she wanted to be her own self that didn't fit into the stiff royal protocol

I always thought Sarah Fergie was a bit dizzy and scatty,but then I always felt a little sorry for her as she was was and is always being slated by the press ,she never seemed able to do anything right with them. She was either fat or flumpy, she lost weight she was slated for that. She didn't have the grace and style as Princess Di, so she got a stylist and then accused of wasting money. Poor Lass just could not do anything to please.

Barbra, there is an obstacle or rather was in Andrews case. Sorry you didn't understand my previous post.

The ruling is that the first SIX in line to the throne need the monarchs permission to marry. Prince Andrew is now SEVENTH in line. Permission no longer needed.

I read many years ago that a senior Royal didn't want Andrew to re Marry Sarah .there must be obstacle in the way as to why they haven't .but who are we to say .there will always be arguments about Royals & Money I wouldn't mind a bit more money .but couldn't live in a goldfish bowl & hounded by the press Barbara

It's Eugenie getting married not Beatrice!!!! Yes I agree the vitriol aimed at these two princesses is horrible, but then it is at lots of members of the RF by the general public. As for Sarah and Andrew? Quite honestly, who cares!!!

Now that Andrew has slipped down the pecking order - or indeed out of - to 7th in line
he can marry without the queens permission.

It equates to about 3p per person in UK.

As for being near the throne, he is still the Queens son and Beatrice her granddaughter,as it has been said already they will be senior Royals attending so security and protection is a must.

William is officially the heir after Charles, is he not???

That means that if Charles dies before the Queen, William replaces him ......... so Andrew is as far from the throne now as he would be in that event. Plus he gets pushed even further away if and when Harry and Meghan start having children, because Harry follows the youngest child of William in the ranking of heir.

The only difference is whether he is less or more likely to get approval from either Charles OR William.

I have seen reports where Charles is as much anti- as the Queen and Prince Philip.

Well Andrew thinks he is so important and if you believe what you read in the papers he is the Queens favourite son and very spoilt so what he wants for his daughters he gets.

The one thing that he has not been able to get the Queen to change her mind about yet is for him and Sarah to remarry my friends relative works in the palace and they have said the he has asked the queen if he athe cnd Sarah could remarry but she said no but I think they will one day cos when Charles becomes king he will be further away from the crown

Madge, I agree. I think it's possible Andrew and Sarah might end up together eventually, it was sad for their girls that they split up and that was probably due to pressure from other people rather than their own choice.

I googled 'who pays for policing for football matches and concerts' and got the impression it mainly comes from local council budgets.
