Does it involve wearing a cap?

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 21 Aug 2018 11:23

He will be well used to it by now if he wants a happy life. You know the old saying ....
:-D

Caroline Report 21 Aug 2018 11:21

As a man would he listen to his OH telling him he's gormless?

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 21 Aug 2018 11:16

Now Bob, don't pull yourself down. You are only gormless if you fit the following:

you need to use an iPhone (or other) so you can 'big yourself up' in quizzes - you know what kind of smartasses I mean;

your breadth of knowledge is so poor that you need a third hand (an electronic aid) constantly;

you spout out a string of big words to look clever without knowing how to spell them;

you try to baffle 'em with bullsh*t ( garbage to the sensitive souls among us ..... are there any?);

and last but not least (and probably the most important requirement),

your OH tells you that you are gormless. ;-) :-D

I don't think you fit that bill at all. :-D

Just a bit grander!

Caroline

Caroline Report 21 Aug 2018 11:06

Oh very grand then....

Sharron

Sharron Report 21 Aug 2018 10:38

This is true.

Maybe it is like the queen bestowing a knighthood.

Caroline

Caroline Report 21 Aug 2018 10:36

Well Bob if you've been informed by a greater being that you are Gormless then Gormless you shall be....whether you wear it as a badge of honour or not is your choice.

Sharron

Sharron Report 21 Aug 2018 10:36

Should we all be prefixing with 'Gormless' now we know?

PatinCyprus

PatinCyprus Report 21 Aug 2018 10:31

Perhaps there were many more Gorms and he lived the longest. It's just a tragedy that we're now Gormless but Bob has at least highlighted this, thank you Bob.

Sharron Report 21 Aug 2018 10:21

He must have progressed through being Gorm the Newborn, Gorm the Baby, and on through Gorm the Middleaged to Gorm the Old and. eventually, Gorm the Dead and Gone.

If the cap fits then wear it.

Allan

Allan Report 21 Aug 2018 10:18

Well, Pat, if Gorm the Old died in 958, then that was one Gorm less ;-)

PatinCyprus

PatinCyprus Report 21 Aug 2018 09:56

We are all Gormless.

Gorm the Old died 958, a Danish king. Prince Gorm of Denmark 1919 - 1991

It is with a heavy heart I tell you all this news :-(

PS Canute was of the House of Gorm being the gt grandson of Gorm the Old

I am sure there is medical debate as to the necessity of gorms. As with so many other people, I had my tonsils removed at an early age and the current paradigm does not favour this practice but anti-biotics are far more readily available now.

Whether I have gorms is debatable but I do wonder if the lack of them does indicate any kind of deficiency or inferiority. After all, I had wisdom teeth and what did I ever do to deserve them, maybe they just didn't work and that is why they needed to be removed.

It is heartening to know that gorms can now be removed medically and the procedure does not entail painful surgery.

Anyway Bob, I am sure you will not miss those nasty gorms in any way and that you will lead a full and active life as a gormless person.
