and I can not find a family in the 1939 register I have tried every trick I can think of and nil zero must be hid in the cellar. I have tried sound a like, tried putting them with other members of the family and still not a hide nor hair. Any idea's

Madge, I found a Shears, mis-transcribed as Skears.
I only know it was her, because she was at a friends house - and I knew the name of the friend! :-S

The Family I am looking for are Percy Walley born 1899 Crew Cheshire wife Mary and their children Edith 1919 Doreen 1922 I think the rest are too young John abt 1927 all living Stockport

Aww Choccy you beat me to it ....I was just going to ask if Percy was born in 1889 rather than 1898 :-)

If that is the correct Percy there is a Schools Admission Transcription on FMP

If you're interested and haven't already found it Madge there looks to be a WW1 Service Record for Percy on Ancestry year of birth is 1891 but he gives his Next of Kin as Father John Walley, 57 Maxwell St which is the same address his Parents were living at on 1911 Census. The Record makes interesting reading :-)
