Thanks both; Sharon - what does the basic membership consist of and (Sharon and Dectective) how does this affect my account?

Thanks for your help in this. I've got a lot of info on here that I don't really want to lose.

Yes, as long as you don’t delete your account.

If you’ve attached paid for records to your tree, you won’t be able to view them ias a ‘free’ member. Best to download to your device while you can, then upload back to your tree.

You’ll be able to view any threads you’ve started or added to, but not post a reply.
You can send messages to anyone on your Contact List, but not to new people.
You can reply to a message sent to you but, again, not send one to new poster or potential relative.

GR has a tendency to instigate an automatic renewal. Keep checking ‘My Account’ as your renewal date nears & make sure it’s still turned off.

If it should slip through, don’t post on the boards to complain as GR could use that as an excuse to say you’ve used your subscription.

As the basic membership, which is what I have always had is less than a pound a month, it might be worth keeping it up and just not looking in.

I'm thinking of having a break from Genes for a little while. Will I still be able to access my information and will I be able to come back to it if and when I decide to re-join?

Thanks.
