A few weeks ago we had no milk delivered one Friday.

Just a note to say that the milkman's float had been raided overnight and the milk had all been nicked.

.....Just usual Friday delivery here. Just milk, no lemonade by the step, this morning.

No idea who our milkman / lady is.
Milk is delivered in the early hours, often before 3 a.m.

I'd think the mistake would be more likely to be made by the assistant
than the owner of the business.

You used to get a penny back off an empty Puroh bottle, pasteurised.

I've had quite a few *samples* from my milkman,,,, like, ,pure orange in a bottle, very nice,.cheese, cream and the yogurts which went in the bin as not liked.

In the old house, my milkman was very good. We had two full fat milks per day for the kids. He came very early.

Unfortunately my neighbour, an old dear, used borrow one of them if she was short of milk for her cuppa. She did replace it in the afternoon, with her skimmed milk!

No amount of words worked, she needed her cuppa, apparently.

:-( :-(

I sometimes enjoyed a pint of cold milk, but haven't seen the milkman for years.

If you were living next door to my ex neighbour you'd never be able to do a swap.

She would phone all the milk companies all the newsagents etc to find out who had delivered to her address - she never thought to ask her neighbours if it was theirs :-S :-S

Or maybe she did think about it and she was just a :-P.
