Jaguar Electric Car Noise for Safety?

I shouldn't think that noise would help tinnitus sufferers either, Annx :-(

I drive a BMW i3 which makes a much more normal noise. Right now it can be switched on and off maybe in future it will always be on.

Makers of performance car ( electric engine performance is v quick ) are working on both cabin and outside sound effects. It looks like there will be wide range of noises to choose from. Sale of conventionally powered vehicles will cease 2040 but electric will become mainstream much sooner than that - the auto companies are planning for 2025. Ford have already announced they are dropping the Mondeo.

When I heard this I thought what a horrid noise. Why couldn't they use the sound of a car engine we are used to, only a bit quieter? It would help the blind realise it's traffic instead of aliens landing. Still won't help anyone deaf will it.
