My Mum and Dad wed on 29th December 1945, so not long after your parents, Barbra. You have had a lot of things happen around this time of year, remember the happy times

It'll be 10 yrs since my dad died, with the time difference it was still Christmas here. I'd known all day he might die and couldn't say anything as his sister was here and my kids were having a great day.

My last Christmas with my Grandfather I was just a kid and had a stinking cold. My Nan didn't want him catching it so I wasn't allowed to cram in around the table with everyone else but had to "suffer" sitting in the backroom watching telly on my own. They filled me with Rum and black and it was more Ribena than anything else of course but I felt happy :-)

Now I think about it the only Christmas my Mum had over here she was full of a cold wouldn't go to the doctors so by Boxing day she was so bad we had to drag her there....so really I shouldn't like Christmas should I?!!

My mum and dad married Christmas Day 1929

Dad died 19th Dec 1975 and it was a very sad Christmas.
Our elder sister and brother did all the arrangements but turned done the 28th Dec for his funeral as that was his birthday. We all said no way are we letting him go on his birthday

Mum died in May 1980 just 10 days after our grandson was born . Her first grt grandson .sadly she never got to meet him as she lived in south east London and our daughter was in Wiltshire where her hubby was stationed in the army

She did know he had been born tho and his name and weight .

Hubby died late oct 2015 so that was a very sad Christmas too
