Madge
Since I lost my hubhy I go through the motions on occasions
Sometimes I think I want to curl up in my cocoon and wake up post Christmas

Our daughter though won't let me wallow
She rings every other evening for a chat but just really to make sure I am ok

I go to hers for Christmas, she says no way you are on your own BUT if you have another offer then that's ok

I have my grandson here now till the .4 th when he has a hospital appointment so he needs to be back that morning

He is great company especially now he is 18 but with learning difficulties.

He loves his nanny but also often mentions grandad
They keep me on track

Good idea if you don't enjoy Christmas and I know how much you enjoy cruises. Suit yourselves for once. (I am assuming you are not going alone.??

If you normally spend Christmas alone, it's a good idea. You'd still be expected to shop, wrap & present before you sail!

Your sad memories will still be there, but may be relegated to the background. <3

seem a time to reflect?

I am no fan of Christmas, I go through the motions like everyone else. I plan I shop I wrap I cook I clean and I present. I detest.
I always seem to think of people who as left us, by Christmas Eve my mood is at its lowest. I have put this down to many things, when the children were young I put it down to anxiety over money, the weather I just never feel happy.

So next year I have decided to spend it aboard.
