We're OK ..............

We got somewhere around 25-30 cm (about 10-12") at our house ............ hard to be certain as some melted each day, and I can only measure with a ruler and guess how much had melted away before the new arrived.

It's supposed to be sunny today, and a bit warmer so more of the snow might melt, but then we could be back in it tomorrow through Saturday. If it stays above 0C, we'll get rain, if it goes below 0C, it will be more snow. But then it is due to turn cold again next week.


Ann .......... Seattle got a real wallop on the first 2 days, and so they had more than we did here in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island ................ although parts of the Island got over 40 cm (just under 16"), while some parts of the Lower Mainland got over 50 cm (almost 20")


It's been an unusually warm and dry winter for us until now, although we used to get very snowy winters back in the '60s through the '70s and early '80s. People have largely forgotten that, or didn't live here back then.

I used to keep the weather records for the Garden when I worked, and I have vivid memories of much more snow in December through to February!

Sylvia we saw Seattle on our news programme last night and I wondered if their snow had reached to you. It looked pretty deep there.

Hello

Hope you are allright with all the snow.

Here in London, we get 4 cm of snow and it is a national emergency! :-S

The shelves are cleared of bread, milk, porridge and soups.

The Beast from the East roared over England on the last part of winter and
London, almost came to a standstill.

At least they have the chance of life after having been injured

Before anyone comments on animals in captivity ............. these 6 are all rescue otters that would be unable to survive if they were released back in the wild.

They were all discovered at different times with injuries largely caused by humans (shot, beaten, etc.), brought to the Aquarium which is an accredited rescue place for sea life, nursed back to health, but then deemed unable to be released back into the sea.

Over 20 cm of snow in Vancouver, BC is unusual.
