Documentary Tuesday 4th June.

I was a bit young to watch the first one in 1964, a year or so younger than the participants so it comes as a bit of a shock to realise that "63 UP" has come around!

Did you watch any of the 'every seven years' programmes? Do you remember what you wanted to be when you were 7 and did you manage it? :-)

Yes I do watch this, I have watched it for the past 30 odd years. In the early 80's one women was married and said she was never having children. 7 years later the marriage did not last and she had 3 children to someone else and a single parent.

The last one I watched there was one poor chap who was homeless and having really bad mental heath issues.

There was a right snobby one as well that only did the program to promote his charity work.

Then the London taxi drivers who has a different career from actor to owning his own business.

I can't remember what I wanted to be age 7, but I know a bit later on I wanted to be a librarian or a writer :-) Not managed either, life gets in the way doesn't it.

That's strange, Rose, I wanted to be a librarian and a writer, never did either.

I love the programme, looking forward to this one

I don't know what I wanted to be when I was seven, but I do recall writing an essay (or composition as we called it back then) when I was about 9 years old saying I wanted to be a nurse.
I'd have been hopeless at that, so it's just as well I changed my mind.

I've just watched "7 Up & Me" with celebrity fans of the show reliving some of the special moments in the show and also talking about what they were doing at 7, 14, 21 etc.

It gave a good reminder of the children in the show and how life changed for them all. I can't wait for the next instalment of the series tomorrow. Excellent television!!
