My OH GF was Spanish. Even with all the paperwork and family knowledge working out the tree was hard work and took years and years. The problem with FamilySearch et al is that many, many records are not digitised and it is easy to get things wrong with what is online. If you have any living Spanish rellies that is the best place to start.

There is no centralised digitised database as in the UK.

Generally you cannot access records less than 100 years old unless you are close family and have documentary proof. Being able to or having a friend who can speak good Spanish also helps a lot.

Hi I'm coming up across a brick wall on trying to find an anscestor born in Spain. On checking the 1901 census it states he was born in Spain I've checked the 1891 and can find no trace of his parents. Any ideas on where I look
