I understand that one trades in bitcoins, rather like trading in stocks and shares.

You buy and sell as the value goes up and down ................. so it is probably as dangerous as trading in those!

We had a case last year in Canada which showed just how dangerous it can be .............

a man started a Bitcoin "bank" (for want of a better word) 3 or 4 years ago. Early last year he went to India for some reason, and died there.

No-one else had the "key" to the bitcoin account, not even his partner/wife. All kinds of experts have been trying to break into the "bank" as people who had bought in say they have lost millions. Now it is a court case, with the partner/wife being charged with fraud and who knows what else.

There is something very suspicious about his guy's death because nothing has been found.

so .........

Bitcoin is real, but it has become a very speculative business and therefore dangerous.

My understanding is unlike banks there's noting really backing it up if anything happens.

These ads I refer to bear the images of Bill Gates and Richard Bramson
and the image of Bear Grylls appears in a different advertisement but as
a still image .The family who invested the recommended sum and quickly
began making a thousand pound a day are anonymous. IT LOOKS FAKE !!
I read else where that it might be used for money laundering (?)
If it uses Artificial Intelligence AI then there ought to be no losers
so how come the profit ?
Is it like a Ponzi Scheme ?

David, whilst I don't understand it either, bitcoin (cryptocurrency) is real.

So much so that the Australian Taxation Office has placed persons who trade in bitcoins firmly within its sights for those who make a profit from trading in this type of 'currency'

Some of the ads with celebrities on are false as the celebs haven't actually endorsed Bitcoins.
Some may be ok though but I don't understand Bitcoins, I would say you could be as likely to lose money as make it.
Martyn Lewis has sued over his image being used without his permission , he has said he will never endorse any ads for anything.

I would be very careful about ads that use celebs endorsements for anything.

Bitcoin's value fell 6% on Wednesday after JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon called the currency a fraud

Excuse my naivety but I have to ask.

Is BITCAIN a scam ?

I see adverts portraying Richard Branson and Bill Gates and Bear Grylls
extolling Bitcoin as the quickest easiest way to make money. FOR WHO ?

Alleged advertisements of a family turning £200 into thousands of
pounds a day. REALLY ?

You have to pay initially in CASH or cheque or direct debit to get into
using AI to but and sell a crypto currency ? These should be no losers.

Is it legal ? a con ? a scam ?

If it's the latter why are Gates, Branson and Grylls attached to it ?

Excuse my ignorance. :-S
