JemimaFawr Report 11 Feb 2021 15:13

It looks as though the Ireland Head Coach, ANDY FARRELL (father of England Captain Owen) is dragging his feet. The team still has not been announced almost 3 hours after the given time!

What's his problem? Are they scared of FRANCE? ;-) :-D

SIX NATIONS NEWS AHEAD OF ROUND 2

Saturday February 13th
SCOTLAND v WALES for THE DODDIE WEIR CUP<3

SO WHAT IS THE DODDIE WEIR CUP?

The Doddie Weir Cup was established as a perpetual rugby union trophy between Scotland and Wales in 2018. The cup was created to bring awareness to motor neurone disease. Former Scotland international lock Doddie Weir was diagnosed with the illness and the cup was named in his honour.

Wales won 21–10 in the inaugural match in Cardiff in November 2018.[2] Scotland are the current holders

WALES<3 NEWS

The Wales side that beat Ireland on Sunday saw plenty of injuries during those 40 minutes. The following players will be injured out....

INJURED OUT:
Scrum-Half TOMOS WILLIAMS has sustained a HAMSTRING injury.
Winger HALLAM AMOS and Centre JOHNNY WILLIAMS sustained HEAD injuries that will keep them out of at least the next game

Flanker DAN LYDIATE, who we watched as he twisted his knee when he fell down, will probably miss the rest of this tournament. He sustained KNEE LIGAMENT DAMAGE just 11 minutes in to the game. It was his first Wales game in 2 years:-(

Centre JONATHAN DAVIES is still not fit to play (ANKLE)

STILL OUT
Winger JOSH ADAMS who received (quite rightly) a 2 game ban for breaking Covid Protocol

CALLED UP:
Cardiff Blues players WILLIS HALAHOLO*, LLOYD WILLIAMS (Scrum-Half) and Flanker JAMES BOTHAM (Grandson of Ian Botham- Cricket)
*Willis Halaholo is a New Zealand born Centre who has qualified to play for Wales under World Rugby's Residency Rule.

BACK:
LIAM WILLIAMS who had a 3 game ban for his Dangerous "Head on Head" entry into a ruck during a Scarlets Game. Liam has served his sentence ;-) and is available for selection

SCOTLAND NEWS:
Changes to the Scotland Six Nations Squad after their Round 1 victory over England-

RELEASED:
Hooker EWAN ASHMAN, Back Rowers BLAIR KINGHORN and RUFUS McLEAN, and Scrum-Half JAMIE DOBIE have been released back to their clubs.

CALLED-UP:
Called for Scotland duty are two uncapped players- Centre GEORGE TAYLOR and Scrum-Half CHARLIE SHIEL and also Prop D'ARCY RAE, who won his first and only cap against Ireland in February 2019.
