Hi.

Can you help me re Minnie McDowell born June 7th 1886 in Abbottshall, Fifeshire.

Death 1963 Lambeth, London.

i have found no matching entries for her in births and deaths, on here.

If you can help, the information i am after is her burial location mainly. any other info will be gratefully received.

This is not the best site for records.

You should find the death on www.freebmd.org.uk. You will probably have to buy her death certificate and apply to the council cemetries officer for her burial/ cremation. Is McDowell the name she had at death as there is no record on freebmd.

All Scottish records are only on Scotlands People.

Note spelling of her surname on the birth registration - unless you know her middle name, you can buy credits on Scotlands People - 30 for £7.50 and use 6 credits to look at her birth cert. Full names and any other information may help your search.

but didn't die in 1963 under either surname in Lambeth

This death would fit the age - is this her as you seem to know her details. But there is no middle initial and there would need to have been at least another marriage..

Could this be her death - still no initial, but as per Reference details - death registered under both Skinner and McDowall surnames and right age. Shame the mmn isn't recorded, but you can use another 6 credits to download the death certificate for it's details.

Above site shows Memorial - an old stone very worn where from the picture you can only just make out Dom's name. This stone is propped against a newer memorial naming Dominic, Minnie and Grandson Alan who died 30th august 1940 aged 12.

I now know her husbands last name was Spinks.

and i came across a minnie J. Mcdowell who married Spinks, in 1913 at Mitford, Norfolk.

I am not sure if is the same people, but likely.

Also just come across this in 1901 census.

There is no death for a woman with surname Spinks in 1963 Lambeth

I have found the information . She died in Plymouth, Devon in 1963.

I was given the wrong information about death place being in Lambeth.

She married in 1913 to Charles Spinks. they went to Australia, and returned. Minnies name was written as Finnie on the ships log. Outward and return.
