I bet that she will take even more from us in inheritance tax. Apparently we are rich because having started with absolutely nothing, we have worked hard all of our lives and wanted to pass on what we have to our children. Anyone who has made something of their lives is going to be penalised with tax rises.

Mines gone as well.

I can't get Pension Credit as my household income is a little over the limit, & thanks to the state pension Triple Lock (for which I am supposed to be better off for having !!! ) I have ended up having to pay Income Tax !
Something I have not had to do since 1969 ! Therefore I have ended up worse off. .

Charities will miss the WFA as some people donate theirs. Since the cost of fuel rocketed we have given ours to our kids.

I feel very sorry for those who get just a bit to much to get benefits - that money for many was crucial.

I read somewhere that the Junior doctors may turn down the offer as they still want the 35%.

Well that's my Winter Fuel Allowance gone now! I wonder what other shocks or surprises will be announced in the October budget???

She laid out plans to slash road projects - including shelving a long-awaited tunnel under Stonehenge - and sell off government assets.

Ms Reeves argued that was not enough, saying she had no choice but to strip all pensioners who do not receive pension credit - around 10million people - of winter fuel payments worth up to £300.

Many people are getting just above the amount needed to allow them to claim Pension credits. They will be the ones worse off. Looks like a winter of discontent for some then.
