MTG thank you for organising the thread, it adds to the enjoyment of watching the series,
It was a really good final and they all deserved to be there. Chris was a worthy winner and obviously a popular one among the other competitors.
It was also lovely to see Amy among the dancers upstairs. She was so pleased that J. Was in the final four.
They were all goodI too loved Tasha’s show dance. But Chris deserved to win he has progressed so much thanks to Diane. And I will never know how he nanages lifts when he can’t see. Their trust I. Each other is wonderful.

I could not be more pleased <3 <3

Chris was a worthy winner and deserved to come top. He was the only non dancer in the quartet and he shone through. <3

I too loved Tasha with her Fred and Ginger routine. But they all had highlights that obviously made them through to the final. :-D

Shirley did remind me of Bette Davis in All About Eve with her portrait neck dress. I hoped she would not sneeze as she looked as if she could have fallen out of the top of it. :-0

Biggest disappointment of the night was not giving full credit to Dave Arch and his band and the singers. It would not have hurt to name the singers personally. The show is nothing without them. :-(

So the show proper is over for another year. Thank you for everyone who participated in the thread, and see ya next year for another. :-)

What a Final :-0. They were all winners in my eyes :-D

For me the dance of the night was Tasha's Show Dance :-) I love ballroom and when they dance like Fred and Ginger well it's just the icing on the cake :-).She looked so elegant and danced it to perfection :-D

However, when you look at the competition overall the greatest improvement did come from Chris especially as he was a non-dancer:-). I think Craig, after being in the training room with Chris and Dianne, really appreciated the obstacles and challenges they had to face with the learner being blind :-)

I think Chris was a worthy winner :-). The trust that they had built together was exceptional because not only could he have seriously injured himself but he could have seriously injured Dianne :-0

Seeing him dance his Show Dance especially the Quickstep sequence was phenomenal...it was just so quick :-0. A-maa-zing :-D

A huge amount of credit must go to Dianne for her teaching skills ..well done :-)

All in all a brilliant Final, hats off to them all for making it a very entertaining evening:-D :-D

Very happy with the result tonight. Must admit it seemed a fun evening. I have liked Craig even more this series as he has taken a happier stance than usual definitely smiled and joked more.

LondonBelle Report 14 Dec 2024 09:38

Any of the four could win it, they have all done so well and deserve to be in The Final :-) I think a lot of Pete's supporters could now vote for Tasha :-0

Who do I want to win? I'm with Maddie... it's Chris :-). He has no visual guide as to how the steps should be done or whether the dance looks right plus he has no dance experience:-0 Yes, it a dance competition but he has excelled above and beyond his disability and for that he deserves a lot of credit :-)

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 14 Dec 2024 08:38

I think it will be either of the two depends on their supporters. :-D

Final of Strictly tonight and it is all to play for :-D

My hunch all along is that is will be JB.

But I really want it to be Chris. <3 <3

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Dec 2024 10:04

And the winner is Chris……No chance for any of the others as he has a huge public vote and a huge publicity campaign

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 9 Dec 2024 08:41

Shame Pete had to go as he seemed very likeable. But pitting a complete beginner against someone who has had dancing lessons since a child, it was the writing on the wall.

How exicitable is Sarah going to be next week? Doesnt hear thinking about. :-0

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 9 Dec 2024 08:18

It was a relief I think for Pete in the end. He did very well in the dance off, really tried, but he was no match against somebody who technically danced well. But, well done to him for continuing to do his best as he must have known he couldn't win.

Interesting now with the final to know who will win. I think Chris has the most public supporters. But, who will Pete's supporters support? Good luck to all four anyway.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 9 Dec 2024 07:11

Well Pete has finally gone....it was the right choice :-). I think in a way he was relieved as there seemed to be a lot of online criticism about him still being in the competition :-(. Regardless of his looks he comes across as really quite a sensitive soul :-)

Pete did do well but he was no match for Tasha and her Waltz :-0. So in the end it was made easy for The Judges:-)

So, in no particular order, we have Tasha, JB, Chris and Sarah in the Final.....any one of them could win it, it is now down to the Public :-0

Can see top dancing studios advertising ‘be dancing on strictly ready’! :-)

Annx Report 8 Dec 2024 15:28

I agree MTG too many lifts from Sarah and how can you properly see any flicks with more fringing on the legs than a Shire horse! Jive has to have some attitude for me as well.

Pete's Argentine Tango lacked drama and posturing for me and he did hardly any flicks.

I liked JB's dances and he was very strong in the Paso.

I can't believe how quickly and confidently Chris covered the floor in the Foxtrot and seemed to be in exactly the right place for his partner.

On performance it should be Chris or Pete that goes, but we know the public vote will be on who the public like, not on their dancing.

It makes such a difference each week too on what dance(s) they get as well as whether the costumes are good for the style of dance and music. Also the choreography.

I wonder if some non-dancers start having dancing lessons once they think they might be in it?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 8 Dec 2024 08:42

Always difficult when it gets to this stage. I agree with Belle and MTG with all they say.

I loved JB's Paso his skill with the cape was amazing. Chris, as always was amazing, so good to watch and he looked exhausted. I guess for him it is mentally exhausting as well as physically. I didn't like Sarah's jive and I thought it was the wrong costume, too distracting. Pete has certainly come on and he actually seemed to be enjoying it too.

I think it should be Chris and Pete in the dance off with Pete to go. But it is more likely to be Chris and Sarah if previous weeks are anything to go by.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 8 Dec 2024 07:57

Oh what a conundrum. Who to save and who to lose. They once again all upped their game for the two dances :-0

Tasha with her Salsa was snappy and lively, then her Waltz was dreamy and elegant.

JB really took the part of the matador in his Paso, and his Salsa was fast and tight.

Chris did what I would call and original Charleston, with all the funny and clever tricks. He never ceases to amaze. His Viennese Waltz was Smooth and elegant.

Sarah's Tango was sharp and dramatic, but her Jive was disappointing. Too many lifts again for me.

Pete tried very hard with his Foxtrot and it was quite elegant. Although I was distracted by the length of his tail suit. Nearly down to his ankles. :-0 His Argentine Tango was also disappointing, although plenty of lifts, not enough flicks for me.

By the way, did the costume department raid a fringing factory? Almost everyone wore fringing :-D :-D

Who will go, who knows? :-0 :-0

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 8 Dec 2024 07:37

Well, I thought they all did well with their two dances :-)

Out of their two dances I preferred

Tasha's Waltz, it just looked so effortless and as if they were dancing as one :-)

JB's Paso, he looked very much the matador and the transfer of the cape between the two was seamless :-)

Chris's Viennese Waltz, they covered a lot of floor and very fast :-0. It must have been very difficult for Chris to lead not knowing if he was going to dance into the audience :-0

Sarah's Tango, it was very intense and she carried it off well even though The Judges thought her neck wasn't as good as it could be :-0. It was the semis so I suppose they are looking for perfection :-). I thought her trousers in The Jive were too much of a distraction :-(

Pete's Argentine Tango, lacked the leg flicks but I think he is much better when he can be artistic in a dance :-). Considering he couldn't tap to a beat when he first started he has done well :-)

It's going to be sad to see anyone go this evening but they should all be proud of their achievements for different reasons :-)

For me there were two outstanding dances, Tasha's Waltz and JB's Paso :-)

I think Sarah could be in danger of being in the dance off :-0. However, I feel it should be Pete and Chris with Pete to go :-(. As I've said Pete for the last couple of weeks, I don't think anyone is safe :-0 :-0

Linda, yes I have mentioned Chris in this respect before It would be interesting if Chris and Pete were up against each other in the finals.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Dec 2024 08:58

The same should be said of Chris Ann. The fact that he can dance as he does is incredible, but he does make mistakes, but the public are voting for him and it has been obvious for weeks that he is going to win the show. The only way that he won’t is if he were to end up in the dance off against a better dancer such as Tasha. The judges would then have a problem because he is the weakest dancer, but that won’t happen because the public will keep him in

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 Dec 2024 08:46

I think we just have to accept that Pete is going through whatever. Even Craig felt obliged to mention the fact that Pete had good supporters. and he remarked that it was why we have viewers voting as that made it fair. Sorry to disagree with Craig but it is not fair because the 'voters' for Pete and voting to keep him in regardless of his dancing ability and probably from a desire to skew the show by messing up the voting.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 2 Dec 2024 07:58

So Pirate Pete lives to fight another day :-0 :-S

I kind of guessed it would be Montell going, and again she was put against a more accomplished dancer. :-(
