It's not a news programme, it's a documentary called Sally Magnusson: Alzheimer's, a Cure and Me. It was very interesting and can, as Belle said, be found on IPlayer.

The following is, I think, what Andysmum is referring to

BBC News - Will I be diagnosed with Alzheimer's like my mother?
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c20m4e27enko

For those interested it says it can be found on BBC IPlayer :-)

My Mum had that and my Dad made sure he looked after her in her final months, with help from me, she grew up in an orphanage, joined the ATS when she was 18 but she was happy with her lot.

Don't think it's available on Freeview but I get it on Virgin cable so maybe on Sky as well.

Thanks for the info. Andysmum.

I'm not sure whether you can get BBC Scotland south of the border, but for those who can and are interested there is a programme at 9pm tonight which looks as though it should be informative.

Sally Magnusson is going to take part in a trial of some sort to try and find a cure for dementia. For those who don't know, Sally is a well known journalist and scottish newsreader, daughter of Magnus Magnusson. Her mother died of Alzheimers. At the time she did a lot of research and wrote a very good book about the experience, so she has a particular interest in the subject.
