I went to see him yesterday. He looks so well and the kidney is working well. He is having the catheter out tomorrow. I was there when the doctors came round. They are so pleased with him as he is up and walking around. I forgot to say he has been type 1 diabetic since 4 years old. He is 32 years old and hopefully he can leave a normal life with his wife and she can rest up.

Pleased that he finally got it done and I wish him all the best for a good recovery. It is a long road ahead of him but will be worth it in the end.

My eldest grandson got his 3rd and final call on Wednesday for his double transplant.
He went into surgery at 11-30pm Wednesday night and bought into recovery at 10.30am Thursday morning. Everything went well although still nil by mouth and still so many tubes. Pancreas working very well kidney not started working yet. Apparently surgeons are not worried as in half the patients this happens to. If it don't kick in, yet another op but hopefully not.
