Thanks for that Mr Magoo. Not too clear on whether they are going to sneak in a charge but there is a half price offer on membership until 12 th Jan.

It looks like Ancestry are also offering 50% off their annual subscription for 'All UK & Ireland' records from £119.99 to £59.99 for a limited period from now until offer ends at 1159pm on 12 Jan 2025, see attached link

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/c/ancestry-family

It doesn't look like they are charging an additional fee to view the 1921 Census :-)

That looks great research news.

I will be busy too, it was taken 2 years before my Mum was born but good to know where my Grandmother was then.

Just rang Ancestry and asked about the 1921 census- it will be free for me as I have worldwide membership at the moment.

Susie
Did Ancestry make it clear whether or not normal UK subscription and not worldwide will have to pay to view?

FMP have a discount for the Pro membership just now. You get £48.89 off the subscription. Sorry i cant actually get the code but if you are a new subscriber, you would get this discount.

Take a look on the site and see how that compares to Ancestry.

I already have a full sub with FMP so have access to 1921 census.

According to the WDYTYAre magazine website it will be available to both subs, UK & world and free via participating libraries and archives.
