Oh I forgot. There is a place up the road from me called 'Puny Drain'. There's nothing there though. There used to be a bridge there which crossed the river, but it aint there no more. |

A few from Cornwall Cripplesease Park Bottom London Apprentice Cockwell Cocks Goongumpus Our local council has suddenly taken to giving all place names in Cornish on roadsigns. I met a Tesco delivery driver early the other morning, almost in tears because he couldnt find Carbis Bay - it has been renamed Porthrepta, according to the road sign! OC |

All sounds wonderful Paul, though not much of a reader myself these days, as my eyes are slowly letting me down and the concentration............well, that's virtually none existant lol! I still paint a lot though and have actually done several paintings and chalk drawings of great Indian chiefs like Sitting Bull. My youngest son has a framed chalk drawing on his wall.....he loves it and I bought him an Indian chief statue for his birthday this year. Jen |

Paul, I'm quite jealous, you must have gone to a very interesting Primary school, I don't ever remember being taught anything about any North American Indian Tribes, and I have always been facinated by their culture and way of life, not that I could ever envisage coping with the lifestyle myself.........and I'm talking about then, not now. They lived, faught and died under such hard and cruel times and circumstances, and some of the images of their weather worn faces say it all. I've always been facinated by their spiritualism and the believe in their forefathers and the spirits in general. May sound romantic I know but, they lived by their beliefs. And they were a proud nation made up of many tribes, and I expect many still are. Jen |

Robins Bottom in Sussex - RAF high and mighties threatened husband with a charge when he put this down as his father's place of birth when they were doing an extra security check as he was at Boscombe Down! They rang his father and then got hold of an Ordnance Survey Map - they never did apologise to him! |
