CC I was only born in 58, so obviously watched repeats of emergency ward 10, or maybe it was still ongoing ?I remember vaguely Liberace too - never really liked him

Rose he doesn't remember that episode. He didn't have own tv, so watched at a neighbours now and again. (should say he is a lot older that me - 17yrs)

R.Rose - a mere youngster - but my parents did not have tv until after I was married - and I was a child bride! I got my young son up to watch the first moon landing - telling him to stay awake as it would never happen again!
PS: Soames was Eric Porter I think - and I've met Susan Hampshire - Aunt Winifred was Margaret Tyszak - who was Monty Darte can picture him but mind gone blank.

LOL Ann, no Dick Barton was before my time! we got tv when I was about 4/5....I apparently used to scream if a train or car seemed to be coming out of the screen at me lol

lol Janice, I remember when they launched 'Telstar' the satellite and we got this fuzzy,slipping picture from America for all of a minute!
My brother used to spend a lot of time in the shed as I remember 'tinkering' with tv valves....can still remember the smell lol
