this girly loves stuff like this,
i love to see aircraft flying over, like these ,
or even helicopters, like the chinooks,
or even the RAF jets,
love the sounds and seeing them race past

Sheila, I think you will find that yes it is the one from Bruntingthorpe. It was taken to Cottesmore so that it could do it's flight tests.

Yes Lynn I thought they had one at Coventry Air Museum, but I don't think it was going anywhere.

Can anyone confirm whether this is the one from Bruntingthorpe? Trying to get OH to go over there one daty, but he isn't interested - unlike me!

Brian, it's Cottesmore not Cottesford LOL.

A couple of the big donors came up with the £150k to get the airworthiness tests done, but ongoing funds are still needed.

Hopefully RAF Cottesford sent it back with full tanks !

Time for a nudge again, and take a look at this clip, taken on the 16/4/2008.

Brian, my son works at an airbase in Lincs and they have got a swearbox going there (that might raise the £150k !)
And my ATC squadron are doing a carboot stall to raise some cash for it.

Nudged to hopefully gernerate a little more support.

Please: Do pass this on to your friends and relatives as it would be dreadful to fall at the last hurdle.

In the 80s we lived near RAF Henlow (&I worked there).

Only small aircraft could land there but, and I don't know why. One day it must have been after an air show, which they used to put on, but i was at home looking out of my bedroom window when this beautiful big bird (a Vulcan) thundered past almost level with my eye line. fabulous. And I love air displays too female of not.

I was brought up in Romford, so close to Hornchurch, but never saw planes there before it closed.

I remember seeing the Hawker Hunters at North Weald, though.

Do we still have an airforce?

Love it. My father was posted all over Lincolnshire in late 50's and used to take us to the airfield gates to see them take off. As a child I can't remember which airbase but wasn't too far from Hemswell. It may have been Waddington or Scampton. Also loved the Lightning's too. Have been to Cosford a few times but not made it to any airshow as yet. Need to convince OH and sons to go.

Got a mention on the Today programme this morning, so that might generate a little support.

That's what I love more than anything about the Vulcan, Chris! She is sooooooooooo noisy! I know I might think differently if I lived with it every day, but oh boy, that is so awesome!

Apology accepted Brian, lol. :-))))

Hi ya

Hope all goes well with the appeal - and the Vulcan will be flying soon...
but I have to admit I think I am seriously losing the plot as when I read subject of thread I thought it was involving Dr Spock of the starship Enterprise!!

Oh dear!

Kaz:o))))
