the ones I can remember are:

Whenever my Dad was asked "How are you" would say "Bad in bed and worse up "

He had been out with his old work mates.....the night before.

my dad would say
"look down on your son Cain and make him Able" and
"Don't panic- remember pearl harbour and let it be an organized panic"

my mam used to say to us, the dog for the hard road, the pup for the path, another one was if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

Hi there , can I add to the sayings ?
My Dad when going out for a pint would say he "was going to see a man about a dog"
Next morning I would search in vain for the dog, never did find one though!.

......and remembering one of Dad's which I used on one of my children who had updated her car.....

......and how long are you going to keep it like that.....

My Sis and I didn't realise all the sayings our Mum had until she passed.....she was full of wise words, and two of her sayings were....

Its the time spent with your children that matter Sally, not the money spent on them....

Don't say anything that you are not prepared to say to people's faces.....
