Lou.....So sorry, I know how devistating it is to lose a pet who all of us who have had animals in our lives (I refuse to use the word own) will know. they are more than a pet they a valued member of the family and to lose one in such tragic circumstances must be heartbreaking for you....I know now isn't the time but I would report the matter to the police just in case there is a next time. In the meanwhile from me and Donna (((((((((HUGS)))))))))

It doesn't seem fair Stephanie, but you did your best by this little cat......the outcome of her life could have been so different......you both gained by her adoption....

My friend Lynn rescues greyhounds, and one of hers looked like a patchwork quilt, having been severely mauled by another dog......she did not live out her full life span......but the quality of the care and love made up for any shortfall in length of life....

A Simple Message From Your Pet
by Ken D. Conover

To have loved and then said farewell is better than to have never loved at all.
For all of the times that you stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and
returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you. For the care that you gave to me
so unselfishly. For all of these things I am grateful and thankful. I ask that you grieve
not for the loss but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each other's lives.
My life was fuller because you were there, not as owner, but as my friend. Today, I am
as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among fthe flowers and
the sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures. I can run, jump and play
and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints
and no regrets and no aging. We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know
that togetherness is forever. You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such
as you are very rare and unique. Don't hold the love that you have within yourself.
Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies,
and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.

Your pet in heaven.

I havn't called round there yet - i don't feel i can restrain myself to that extent...

I feel awful that i wasn't there to save her, i should have been. She probably tried to get home to us.

I Just want to hold her and tell her that i'm sorry.

She won't have been able to see him comming because of her eye and then maybe thought she'd be ok as our dogs are all soft with her....

I just want her back so badly.

Sorry my response didn't see the very sad demise of Marley. I,m shocked for her & you that a pit bull was responsible for her passing Poor gal ,i so sorry she suffered that way.
What do the owners of the pit bull say, guess they wash their hands of it!!.

So sorry

Lou
no words can compensate for the loss of your Marley. It hurts like HELL. the only thing I can offer is to know that she knew such love & security with your family thats she went with all the love she could have had.
Such heartbreak when we lose them, but hopefully we know that we made their time here so much better even if they had a bad start . I cried buckets for several weeks when we lost our old guy aged 18 plus ,vowed NEVER to go thro it again cos it hurt too much. he is still very much loved & missed some ten years later but we did offer another home from the cats protection league some 18 months after him and we still have our darling Mirabelle.
I know its still too raw to go down that route but I do beleive that we can love again.

Much love to you and commiserations on your loss of a much loved puss

I havn't even been able to say goodbye to her...
Without going into too much detail it was the pitbull from over the road - the people there apparently 'disposed' of my beautiful girl and wern't even going to tell us...
We heard it from another neighbour....

I'm trying not to loose it completely (you wouldn't believe my restraint right now)

I'm so angry and upset as this should never have happened...
