I know what you mean. I got mine clear before 1 school holiday and then she had some 'visitors' again within 2 days of going back to school.
My poor 15 year old caught them off her once and was mortified - she did laugh when I said at least she didn't have a boyfriend as that would be embarrassing having to tell him to check his hair. lol

I've done tea tree and vinegar but not heard of vodka ! Will look into that one ta xx

I think it's a mixture of lazyness and 'not my child' syndrome. They nearly all get them at some time, some people deal with that fact others can't be bothered.

Sorry to hear that you are suffering from the little blighters, Im sure these days they are becoming more and more immune to the treatments. As you say no nit nurses in schools either do not help the problems that keep occuring.

Have you tried the t tree oil remedies. We were once told to try this a few years ago with our own children and it worked. I cannot think of how much it was the herbal shop recommended now but it did consist of t tree oil and a spirit ( Ie vodka etc ) the spirit is supposed to kill any unhatched eggs, might be worth while looking into, i remember it did work for ours

Jax maybe they'd have a different point of view if we invoiced them the tenner each bottle costs. Thirty kids per class ........ that'd stop them xx

I use tea tree shampoo and conditiioner, I know the jury's out on it's effectiveness but (touch wood) when she has had them she hasn't been over-run and they've given up without as much fight.

Im hacked off with it too Muffy. Boo had them again this week and i know the child she is catching them off as you can see them in her hair and have previously had a word with the mum about it. What makes it worse is that the mum is an LSA in the school so should know better.

I have been there SO MANY times. I've started just doing the conditioner and nit comb regeme as I'm sure the nits are getting immune. I get really annoyed when there's girls in the class with their hair not tied back. You want to shake the parents. My 6 year old has shoulder length hair and I make sure it's in bunches.

I've done the vinegar rinse and taken all advice given to me the last time I put up a thread about this.........

but have just found a nit in little ones hair !!!!!!! So now we're all sitting here with yucky stuff in our hair once again !

I as a matter of course de nitted all of us before they went back to school after the xmas hols.

I am sure that the nits are immune to pretty much everything but I refuse to give in.

I'm using Derbac M today for the first time in the hope that they may succumb to this.

I'm so fed up with this. We need a nit nurse back in schoool and NOW. If people are offended by their kids being sent home or singled out TOUGH. I've had enough of having to suffer for others negligence.xx
