Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 5 Mar 2010 04:46

Not sure what my name says about me then Gail lol cos I feel anything but sparkly at the mo, it was my Christmas name from 2008!!! The Diamond was from my 60th birthday, as it was the only diamond anniversary I would manage lol, and the Purple has been there from the start, 5 years ago when I was Purple Petunia, a link to the lovely Cilla in Australia, I wonder how she is doing now? I turned into a Purple Poinsettia that Christmas and went from there lol - can't lose the Purple now can I? Maybe time for a change soon.

Good luck with the therapist Carole, you are lucky to get such help, I can't get anything through nhs.

Lizx

Hope Chloe is ok and all my friends, oh sorry Colin, forgot to say hi to you.

Being too old to be Dorothy, I added Gran, (re names) and must admit it is a probability that it is connected to how I feel, like " where the hell am I?"

Chloe most of the family have said hello!! I see what Colin is saying about your name. As you feel better about yourself you will be able to look back and say I'm not so dizzy now!! I think the names we choose for ourselves reflect how we feel. Mine shows how small I felt, and if anyone blew on me I would fly away. I'm stronger than that now. Anyone else think thats true about themselves?

Carolina nice to see you. How are you?

Well I meet my dynamic pychotherapist tomorrow. A meeting with the therapist who is taking me on after her holiday. Better try get some sleep ready to cope with that!!

Love to you all xx

Dutch if you pop on sorry I didn't call you I fell asleep this afternoon. xx

Hello Chloe and welcome to the club. Are you sure you want to be McDitzy? It doesn't seem to to very good for your self esteem. You're not mad, just suffering from a chronic illness.
I also get depression, and although functioning OK at the moment, when I have a day off it is very hard to get motivated and get out. I work a four day week. On the off day I find it is hard to get up and very tempting to just read a book or get on the computer.
So I am back on antidepressants, just in case. I don't want to be crippled by depression again.
I live in the same Ausrtalian state as Gran of Oz (Gail) on the other side of the world from you, and don't get on the site every day but like others I would like you to tell us how you are going.
From my experience and that of my sister PJ doing nothing and staying in bed is both a blessing and a bad sign. Sometimes the body genuinely needs to rest as fighting all the time is mentally exhausting.
Hello Gail, hope your bruises are yellow / fading by now.
Claire, sorry things are rough. If we can help you hang in there, let us know.
Ben, I relate to your family issue. I have similar issues in my own.
Common names can be found. I had a Mary Smith.
Thistledown (Lillian) we haven't spoken before but hello,
Liz, Carole, Ann, Eileen- nice to see your posts here.
Back on my own family, my younger sister Cate (57) has come down in a screaming heap, She teaches in a small rural school. She has administrative duties but her teaching load last year was ten children. This year, she has forty spread over four grades and cannot cope. She has already been diagnosed as having a severe stress and anxiety condition. She was the normal one in the family. It seems that no-one is immune. She at least has been able to talk to her husband about it.
xx to all. Colin.

Hey Claire long time no see. I must phone you. I am going to the nurse today for another peak flow test (I had used my inhaler before so it was cancelled). Had to get up at 5:30 this morning to get Steve home from work, he felt ill but had to take the van in! Tomorrow I start my dynamic psychotherapy. Not looking forward to it now.
So Claire whats going on with you?

And where is our other Claire? Anyone know how things are going with her mum and her mums house?

Hi Chloe, welcome to our little thread! The conversations here are light hearted as well as supportive. I was about your age when I started to recognise I had depression, but realise now I had it at an earlier age. With help from people on here I can see why I have it now!
Some advice I would give you is to give yourself time to get better, and don't be in a rush! Take each day at a time, and let some of the things that really don't matter go by. Do you live in your own house? If you do leave the hoovering, or ironing.
It will wait. Relax and slow down. I used to be one step ahead of myself all the time trying to prove I was a good mum and house keeper. I wanted my mum to see I could keep house and garden as perfect as her. Now I don't worry. I have had a couple of periods off work for a few months. But your health is the most important thing so just accept it will take time to get back to being yourself. If it would help you to talk please pm me.
Then your feelings are not out there for all to see.
We have had a good lot of help in pm's. xx

We are excited, we have booked our flights to New York in June. Just have to work out the best option to get to Nebraska from there. We are going to visit a second cousin I met on here a few years ago. She came here four years ago, and now we are going to meet her family. Anyone see Yes man? (Jim Carry film). He and his girlfriend got a flight to where we want to go, and there looked as though there is nothing there!! Haha

Welcome Chloe. I am 28 nearly so slightly older than you but we are young (brag, brag lol)

I have someone doubting my Taylor success story by asking me am I sure it is the same man but I have done the research and the info fits. I just laughed it off but I do find it annoying when I have done research and someone says "Are you sure it is the same person". Common names can be researched you know.

He was buried in 1898 in the village he married and raised children from 1851 onwards and is on the 1891 census and his birthplace is slightly out but William is the only man in the area who came from the area of Essex my one came from. I am 100% sure it is him. And anyone who knocks it, well that is their illogical opinion as I know I am right.

McDitzy Report 3 Mar 2010 12:43

Chloe here, changed my name.

Thanks for the replies and support. Yes, I do have support at home. I have had to move back in with the parents recently, but hoping it's only temporary.

I have issues with social relationships and find it a heck of a lot easier to talk online than I do in person at times! I too usually shut myself off. There was a whole week when I just stayed in bed in my pjs, but it is much nicer to get dressed!

:-) x

Welcome Chloe to the family. We do go off track at times, but it is still sharing. For me it is a way to communicate with the outside world. I need to remind myself all of the time that the world does exist past the boundary of my own back yard. I have a tendency when down or depressed to close myself off and away. Just knowing there are others out there with the same problems is such a bonus. Because of the wonderful people on here that have been there for me and others that I am able to have contact with others. Also feel free to contact any of us by Personal Message if you do not want to put your thoughts and feelings on the board. I have done this frequently.

Some of us are all over the world, so if you do PM me there is an 11 hour time difference, but I will respond as will others.

Love and hugs

Gail
