Really Carole,Land of Lost Content in Craven Arms.
She will bite your hand off if you take it there.

You will enjoy the visit too.

Carole,
if you have a local animal rescue centre they would be glad of any old towels etc.

Carole Report 18 Feb 2010 10:10

I bought one of those self cleaning ovens. When some one at work said they had cleaned theirs, I said mine is self cleaning! I know I still should clean the bottom of it, but I really can't be bothered (very often)!

At last I am on holiday from work. Now to start catching up on jobs at home and at Aunt Louies. I need to clear out her years of saving stuff for anyone who may find it usefull! Anyone want any curtains, cushion covers, glasses cases, bedding, towels, tins, magazines, or shopping bags?

I wish I had all my certificates just need so many. I find it more difficult to get the correct cert for England so have a few dead ones. I have 4 unusable death certificates for one of OH great grandfathers, and the fifth was finally the correct one. I will probably find, eventually that the wrong certificates are probably relatives anyway, so they have been put aside for later. It is much easier to get the correct certificate here as usually they have the parents names on them so easier to match.

I just wish they would have given their children unusual names, so tired of trying to find John, George and William in families.

Recently I ordered what I though was a death certificate for a many great grandfather and when it arrived it was for a 4 month old baby. So very sad, but it turned out to be a many great uncle that I did not know about, so was so happy to be able to then put him in my tree.

Off to bed

I loved getting certificates but think I have exhausted all mine now. I too hate oven cleaning and leave it until it is really really grotty!

Hope Joyce improves soon, cannot help with the very cold weather you lot are having this year.

Have had a very busy day, had to clean the oven which was very grotty and starting to smoke when you cook and setting off the smoke alarms. A job I really hate. Yesterday I did some more lawn mowing, and tomorrow some more mowing, which I love.

Also received some much awaited certificates and have been having fun with those as well, and they are taking me on yet another journey. I still get excited when the certs arrive in the mail.

love and hugs

I had that really virulent cold that is doing the rounds recently and that started as sciatica. It would be good to think that is how it will be for Dutch.

YorkshireCaz

YorkshireCaz Report 16 Feb 2010 10:47

I don't think there's anything to help Carole, it's caused by a disc pressing on the sciatic nerve, and the state of poor Dutch's spine theres nothing they can do to help her. Her backs in a terrible state with arthritis and degeneration shown by last x-ray.

Just looking in to check up on you all. No real news to tell you. I have today off work, but don't think i'll go to Wins funeral. I can't cope so quickly after Anitas.

Spoke to Dutch today she has siatica now. She is in a lot of pain poor thing. No tablets will help stop the pain. I told her to try acupuncture. Anyone any other remedies?

Eileen, I was used to seeing the dustcarts so the name came as no surprise. He was a nice chap and told me he had a daughter called Elizabeth too, I had to hide a smile at that stage, fancy having the register called for Elizabeth Smellie! Bet she got some stick at school poor girl!
Made me glad my name isn't too odd altho a few idiots used to adapt it to Woody Woodpecker!

Eileen, do you know the words for copy and/or paste? Can you put them into help, it will maybe tell you where they are.

Sharron

Sharron Report 14 Feb 2010 21:33

.Our dustcarts used to have the name of the borough engineer or whatever he was on the side. His name was very ordinary but his post-nominal letters were M.I.C.E. Fairly appropriate I thought.

Ann, I did as you said, get the same message: 1) Lettertype, 2) Alinea (meaning sentence), 3)opsomming & nummering (summing up and mumbering) 4) Hyperlink-? 5) Synoniemen= synomens, whatever that means. No way can copy or paste anyting...so, am stuck once again. x

AnninGlos Report 14 Feb 2010 15:30

Eileen, just out of interest look at the top left of your screen to whatever is the Spanish equivalent of edit, second in after file. 4th down should be copy and 5th down paste. After you have highlighted your text in word or whatever, go to edit and click on copy, go to Genes, place the cursor and click on paste also in edit.

Mary if you are looking in, whatever are you like? Poor you, I feel for you, about 15 years ago I did the same thing, falling down the last three stairs. Didn't go to the doctor but strapped it well, as you say it was extremely painful and swollen, it took at least 2 months to get completely better.

Afternoon all,

Have just did as Colin so kindly explained, typed message in the Word program, highlighted it, clicked right of mouse, but 'copy'didn't appear on the menu...several other things in Dutch, none translated to copy. So, now I don't have the faintest how to proceed.

You were very clear and patient Colin, so thank you very much.

Was giggling about the man called Smellie having his name on the side of dustcarts Liz. How on earth did you manage to keep a straight face whe talking to him? I know I couldn't,

Mary & Caz, I hope you are both feeling slightly (would love to say completely) better now.

Have to stop, this is driving me bonkers....

Take care and keep warm everyone.

ANOTHER UPDATE: feeling a bit fragile, but today the dogs have been stalled till March 19th for a variety of reasons, so that gives a few more weeks to finish raising the funds. One dog is completely paid up,the other has some left.

Poor Mary, not a good year for her so far, it can only get better I hope.
I will keep you posted on any more news.

Update from MaxiMary, on Friday.
Ive really done it this time. Fell down the last few stairs from C's upstairs flat yesterday morning. Shook myself up badly but it seems I have torn the ligaments in my left ankle and am subjected to a 'air boot brace'("just"$200.) for several weeks. Told it will take several weeks to months to heal. I actually thought it was broken - sore to touch, very swollen and discoloured. Damn and double damn. Can't do anything simply the doc said he hopes the rest of my retirement goes more smoothly than the first 2 weeks have LOL. My wrist surgery is booked for Feb 22nd and the dogs are due to arrive on the 23rd. he wants me to ssue crutches but with this big clod-hopper boot I would be totally unbalanced (more than usual) and increased risk of further injury. For now it must be elevated and minimal weight bearing. miniMary is having a group of her friends for a party here tonight, they are going to see a film in town after having a pizza supper here, then a few are sleeping over till tomorrow. Think I may sleep upstairs, quieter and I can keep my leg up without being in the middle of them all.
Oh I am such a klutz, the prob which made me fall I think is two-fold, first as usual I was probably moving too quickly. Secondly the steps aren't all the same size, some are very much narrower than others so one has to watch one's step and I was rushing at top speed.
Please send me a hug I am feeling sorry for myself . . .

Y/Caz. Sorry, I've just caught up with this thread, and am sorry you are having such pain and problems, but glad the scan shows things seem to be stable.
I will pm you, but don't worry about answering til you're able, and good luck with your new hobby.
My g.son asked me the other week if I would knit him something, but alas, it's many years since I have managed to, as it hurt my wrists.
Now my hobby is crosswords lol

Take Care one and all.

Gail, glad you are feeling better.
Helen, maybe it will last this time.... Positive thinking!! Glad you had a night out, even though you ended up with more on your shoulders.
Carole, not a great time for you with the deaths of two friends. However, I am pleased that Aunty is settling in well now.
