Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 25 Feb 2009 03:39

Hi all,

Caz, very glad you like the flat, let me have the address please when you have a mo.

Carole, enjoy your time off, you should have come shopping down here, lots of nice stores in Norwich, altho maybe not yet as I have caught that darned cold o.h. had, my throat was so sore all day and now I have a nose as red as Rudolph's. I did put the Vick on my feet before I slept and hope it will stop the cough starting which was how o.h. was, I told him off for constantly coughing into the atmosphere, slow witted dumbo he is, he said he couldn't get his hand in front of his mouth cos the cough happened so quickly - no manners that one, what a stupid excuse. Hope my cold goes really soon, last thing I need at the mo!
Am catching up with washing, still have to check the instructions as it is different from the previous machine, but seems to work ok so hope it will last.
We had pancakes for dessert last evening, he made them - and a huge mess - why are men so useless, he used a bowl then poured the batter into the jug to pour into the pan, fgs, he could have made the batter in the jug in the first place cos guess who always ends up with the washing up. If he does it he misses bits and I have to rewash everything, keep telling him to wear his specs when doing it but he doesn't. Spent ten minutes trying to find one pair of his last evening cos he had put them down and couldn't find them! Drives me nuts!

Hope everyone has better days ahead as the days get a bit longer and brighter - will try and catch up with pms etc soon, just can't do much at the mo with him around so often.

take care,
love to all,
Lizxxx

Hi Ann we're quite a small family well apart from me and my 5 siblings and I do keep pumping everyone for info, think I might take a notebook with me & seeing as I can't really drink on my tablets I might even write something that makes sense! I dug out lots of old photos which Mum automatically dismissed saying she didn't know who was in them but when her brother came round lo and behold her memory came back and I now know what my great grandparents look like! I was thinking of giving all the guests at their party a page to write a memory, story or just how they feel about my parents and use those and photos from the night to make a memory album. Should keep me out of mischief for a while!

alison, I assume you are doing your tree or you wouldn't be on here. Wont there be opportunities at your parents 50th. At my parents 50th in the 80s there were a group of us cousins sitting round a table with pencil and paper pooling information, got a lot of info that day. Also my parents two bridesmaids were there with more stories.

YCaz, yes please when you know it i would like your new address.

Caz congratulations on your flat I'm sure when you've finished with it it will be amazing xx

Carole I hope you enjoy your 2 weeks off, I was off last week and did absolutely nothing and I loved it! xx

I'm sorry to hear so many of you are having such bad times at the moment, I hope things start to look brighter soon.

I'm feeling quite positive at the moment but it's my Mum and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary in just over 2 weeks and I can feel myself starting to get worked up about their party, whenever I think about it my stomach starts churning, hope I at least manage to stay for a little while.

YorkshireCaz Report 24 Feb 2009 17:14

Hello all, just to let you know I have been to see the flat this afternoon, my neice was here when I got the call to say we can have the keys. It's lovely but needs some new carpets and decorating which we expected. Hubby has gone to see it now, my doctor came this lunch time on her usual visit but wasn't happy with my feet and the swelling. She has left a prescription for some sort of tight bandaging I have to wear from getting up to going to bed. He will go to chemist then round to the flat to have a look on his own.
It's got a bath which I was worried about as I can't stand to have a shower, I have no balance, so everything is working out well for us. We will sign up for it at the back end of the week then it's ours to move when we are ready.

My sister and neice have been helping me with sorting and bagging up for the Heart Foundation coming tomorrow for them. My neice is having all my garden tools and one or two other things I put aside for charity shop, best keep it in the family hey.

Love and hugs to all.

Ann, thats right my birthday is Saturday. Might pass some time
in a grave yard or two! We might have a day or two away if we can get a baby sitter for the dog. I have an appointment with CBT on Thursday, Steve was at the dentist today. We have some new furniture coming Saturday, then going out for a meal and dog racing.

Carole Report 24 Feb 2009 10:11

Hello I'm about but have my daughter here. yesterday we went to Glasshoughton and did a bit of shopping. Steve got me a ring for my 50th and with some money from my mum and dad and girls at work I got a smoky quartz pendant. I also got some lovely jewelry rolls from past times to send as gifts to some cousins.

Hayley is 26 today ( time has flown and I miss the little girl she was but love the woman she is). So she had some money to look in the shops and spent wisely as usual, in the next clearance shop. Hayley come home with bags full of bargains.

Talking of doing silly things years ago I made tea for us all. It tasted foul. I thought there was something wrong with the water. I went to my neighbours to see if their water was ok and it was. After a while we found I had filled the sugar bowl with salt!!

I have two weeks off work this week and next. No plans we will just see what the weather is like and of course money! Hayley has this week off so is staying here. Might go to the cinema today.xxxx

Okay where are you lot hiding???????

Y/Cas, first order of business is to make sure computer is last to be packed and first to unpack. I am pleased you finally get the place you wanted and really hope it makes a difference for you and OH. I will try and keep you posted on birds, at least you can look them up. The eagle that was after my chickens was a wedge-tailed eagle, it was either a male or a young bird as was a bit smaller, and the males tend to be a little smaller that the females. It is also my favourite eagle as they are so large and very majestic. I do love all eagles and falcons. Really like most birds though.

Deanna, glad I am not the only one to do daffy things. Poor OH though. Gave me a good giggle, and no I have not done that one yet. Just thinking what I can put an oxo in. ;]]]] I also have problems with names so do not worry, I usually remember as far as the last page, it is hard at times but I am sure we are forgiven.

Rach, hope you are feeling better by now. We are here for you.

Eileen, how are you managing? Is Angie coping or not?

Carole tinker, you also have been quite, are you okay?

Havn't spottet Liz, probably too busy with new washer.

Mary hope the new furnace is now working and not more problems for you for a while.

~~~~~~~ to Ann, treehunter, colin and anyone I have missed.
Deanna Report 22 Feb 2009 18:22
Well everyone I'm so glad that we are all doing a little better.
Vods, Carole, Mary, Caz... good news girl.... Ann, Rach, OMG... I just cannot keep the names in my head too long. Sorry all of you.
Well life is good just now, it is I who is bad!
I am a weepy, moany groany mess!!
Had a shower this morning which took me so long... spent most of my time in it... crying!!. That seemed to be the pattern for the day. Cannot wait for bed time when i can shut my eyes and go to sleep
Just a little note which will perhaps make you all giggle.
Part of my *messed up day* was my usual morning coffee.
We love our breakfast coffee and it is, and always was a bit of a ritual in our house.
It is ground coffee and Allan makes the best coffee in the world!! Sorry folks but that is only the truth. ;-0)
So Allan made the coffee , I had two slices of toast and marmalade... took a bite of my toast, an then a sip of coffee.... I was nearly sick. It was an indescribable taste ... just AWFUL. I had a cup pf hot water instead.
Allan insisted that he had done nothing differently.
Afternoon coffee time came, and Allan realised what he had done.
He was making the coffee and the stew at the same time.... and...... PUT A STOCK CUBE INTO THE CAFETTIERRE!!!
ah well... cannot complain, he treats me very well.... NORMALLY... ;-0)
Sleep well all of you and I am looking forward to the day when I am able to chat LOADS again...
lots of love,
Deanna XXXX
Dear YCaz how wonderful for you, shame to leave the garden but the convenience and comfort will be a plus. Now you can fill the windows with plants.
Eileen you put it so well about this group of caring people, they've helped so many people at various stages of crises, for support when needed, non-judgementally. I'm privileged to 'know' you all.
Rach I'm sending you a hug, not much I know but feel your pain.
C Caz, whatever the crisis, send you support.
treehunter I hope your move comes soon, so you and your boxes can relocate happily.
Deanna so good to hear you sounding chipper in spots, wonderful recovery.
Carole Tink, a special hug for you everytime I see tinkerbell in the shops I think of you.
AnnG thanks for your ongoing support.
Liz are your clothes clean yet??? Now how about the shower???
Vods keep smiling through.
I am warm. Blessed relief after 48 hours in frigid weather with no heat.
My African violet leaves, which I am propagating, survived in the new indoor greenhouse I'd received from Freecycle, the day before the heat went out. The snow started again yesterday and is still coming down with quite a wind to help it along. I have a busy weekend at work, yesterday evening we had to declare 'outbreak' on the Alzheimer unit, 5 very sick people all with the same symptoms. Which means that staff cannot rotate from floor to floor, which leaves me caught in the middle, supposed to work there tonight but am booked for another floor tomorrow.
How I wish I could quit, tired of the hassles.
Have a good day all, I've been paged to keep the peace upstairs, Colleen has taken Mary and Em to Mary's b'day party, and meg's run out of patience with Gareth.
Thinking of you all,
Mary
What wonderful news Caz. Am delighted that you have got the flat at last.
Cumbrian Caz.Will keep you in my thoughts, hope your personal crisis is solved a.s.a.p Mary, the furnace costs will be sooo worth it in the end, you should all be lovely and 'toasty' soon. Nice to hear the company intsalling it are behaving in such a decentway in this dog-eat-dog era.
Have p.m'd you Deanna. Carole, thanks for asking, yes, were are fine...well, as fine as possible.
Am thinking of all of you actually, giving thanks for such a great bunch of caring people, who have given me some comfort and help since coming on here, help everyone who needs it for one reason or another, without prejudice or making fun in any way, after all, most people need someone to lean on at some time in their lives, don't we?
Grey and miserable again today, just the thing to lift your spirits!!!!
