Well done Caz, that is good, even though I suspect you have mixed emotions over leaving your garden and birds. Hopefully life will be easier for you. Since buying our first place we have moved five times and I have been sad to leave every one. But you will soon settle in and it sounds as if it will be very convenient for you. when you have seen it do let us know what it is like.

YorkshireCaz Report 21 Feb 2009 17:45

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to make an announcement.

I HAVE GOT MY FLAT AT LAST.

We had a meeting yesterday with the sheltered housing people and they went though everything with us. Carole the manager of the complex was there as well, she was there to note my needs re health and mobility, she said she would get someone in to look at the safety aspects of it for us in case I need any aids like grab rails and such.
I can't believe it, I've got the place I wanted, I already turned two down, and it's on the top floor so got a good view, there's only three floors and a lift of course.
We can get the keys on Wednesday to have a look at it, then if we agree we take it over on 1st March.

Ooer, such short notice, I am going to have to get rid of things now, I wonder what made me start to sort things out week before last, intuition?

Sorry Treehunter to be moving before you are, but I don't think you knew I was waitiing anyway did you. I am having to move because our present semi can't be adapted for my disability. I will miss my garden though and all my birds, I have planted bird friendly trees and bushes, got a patch of nettles at the bottom for the butterflys, got quite a few Budlia for the butterflies and bees etc. Such a shame to be leaving it.

Hope everyone is keeping as well as expected.
Love and hugs to all.

Thank you for your kind thoughts for dear Jane, we really do love her in our home, she is heartbroken that her brother cut his ties with her as well as his/my kids/grandkids. We share that grief. My daughter Colleen keeps trying to mend fences with him, but it's an uphill battle. i hope he can make peace with Janey before her time is up.
Today didn't start well here, we woke up to a VERY cold house. I couldn't get the furnace going, an $800 part needed replaced, but the furnace is so old and rusty (shouldn't have been placed directly on a cement floor when the basement leaks after the rain) I've had to make a decision to go for a new one which includes new central airconditioner. Will get almost $2000 in rebates as it will be better for the environment as well as my utility bills. But that still leaves a chunk, I've been able to work it out so tomorrow the basement is being torn apart to put in a new unit. Unbelievable really, the ducts are apparently the wrong size for the furnace, the old A/C isn't installed correctly, the list goes on, the man was surprised it lasted so long in the bad condition it's in. In the meantime i am sitting near a small heater to keep from shivering LOL. This should also improve the air quality indoors which is a bonus. I am actually quite relaxed about it now after a bit of a meltdown this morning. It HAS to be done, no choice, we cannot stay this cold. Luckily Colleen has a separate furnace upstairs so we can escape up there to warm up, the dogs and the cat are fine. I might as well relax - After all I am due to win the Millions someday soon, right?
Have to run for tonight - to clear the area so they can work tomorrow - they were excellent - came promptly and have loaned me heaters and will install in the am. Good service I'd say.
Hugs to all who need them, running too fast to make a list, my apologies,
mary

Deanna, you are doing so well, nice for you to have visitors, a good nights sleep will sort it.

Mary, thinking of you SiL that she has the strength to cope with the op. I am sure that hospitals are used to dealing with people who are deaf so will be kind to her. Wishing her well for the op.

My friend Noreen.. and here Granddaughter. We had such a lovely chat and giggle but I'm wacked now. ;-0)
See you all tomorrow if I'm okay, get a bit fed up being so washed out. Still I have more good days now so I should not moan.

Looking forward to Janes recovery and a new lease of life with no worries about her heart.

Going to Skegness today to work. Took some imodium last night as I was worried because I have to pick up this young lad who started work with us on Monday. I hate new people finding out I have trouble with you know what.

Hope you all have a good day xxx

Mary, I do hope Jane comes through this ok and will be well enough to continue to communicate with her friends and relatives by email, she sounds a lovely lady and after all she is your children's aunt so must be greatly treasured.

My best wishes to her and many positive thoughts.
