Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 30 Jan 2009 03:37

Hi all, still got my wee problem lol driving me nuts, hope it clears up soon - last time it took about three or four days so only a couple of days yet .

I am sorry you are having such trouble with that engineer Sharron, can you not take some pictures of the buckled bit and send the companies concerned. The chap who is looking at sounds a real drip, let's hope he doesn't end up in a wheelchair some time - he might get back what he deserves, the dope!

Gail, I am sorry about Ruby and now your poor dog, plenty of tlc while you wait to get the ops and biopsy done and we will all be sending positive thoughts for you both.

Kathy, I keep getting rid of emails -it's the duplicated funnies that help clog things up but I do have lots of other stuff to get rid of, just not much time on here while dopey features is at home. He has just told me he probably won't be working Saturday, the company are messing him around, but it's probably cos he keeps arguing with his boss and being bolshie, so they are trying to teach him a lesson. All the others are allowed to go in on Sat but to be fair to them the boss said, it should be o.h. who doesn't get the overtime this week! Doesn't make sense as one lad doesn't usually want to do o/t as he plays rugby and when o.h. asked him, he said he doesn't know if he is playing yet so may or may not go in, will they ask o.h. at the last minute - I hope so lol.
I had to giggle at the story of the poor American chap and his cat, what a reputation you will have lol

I think I have read the Martine McCutcheon's mother's book - Behind closed doors? - it was dire wasn't it? There are so many books out like that now, so much cruelty and unhappiness those children and others suffered. Yet how much have we moved on? It still happens more than it should.

I am reading Paul OGrady's book at the mo, it is good and he did seem to have a pretty good childhood, compared to many. It interests me because around the time it is talking about, I had relatives in Birkenhead too but I can't find any of them now, sadly.

Eileeen, I am glad you are feeling better altho troubled over the letter and a little worried about looking after your family. Good thing you are stronger now and coping better.

Carole, what date is your birthday? I bet you are looking forward to the Ballet - o.h.'s bday is next Thursday 5th. We will have to have a natter next week if poss. he is on lates then except Thursday when he has taken a day off.

Ben, you keep up the good work with your tree and ignore the doubters.

Has anyone heard from Betty, it's been a few days now since I heard anything and hoping she is ok,

Ann and anyone else I have missed, take care and will catch you on another thread perhaps.

love and hugs

Have been having visions of he of the left hand wheels and nearly 90, sneaking out at night and going for drag races, chucking wheelies and getting up to so much mischief while Sharron sleeps. Thanks for that Carole, have had the giggles so bad, with you starting me off.

So, they are shopping a nearly 90 year old for miss use of a motorised wheel chair. PLEASE!!!!!! Do these people have a pea for brains. Has it ever crossed their tiny minds that they are incompetent????? I agree, bit of a worry that this person even holds a license to drive.

Sharron, bit of your own advice, give it to them, do not sit back and take this rubbish. Fight them in the trenches, on the beaches. Fight them you will!!!!!! I realise you are already doing this and must be so frustrated after months of this nonsense. I hope you have reported them to the relevant authorities.

My wonderful mate (dog) has had a lump on his hind leg for a while and the vet has been keeping an eye on it. The vet has now decided the lump needs to be removed and sample analysed. Trouble is I have now found 4 more lumps on his tummy of different sizes. They cannot now treat him here and we have to take him 60 klms away and leave him overnight after the op. He is so funny and now wants to come inside when he hears the air con going, when I let him in he goes into the laundry and sleeps on the tile floor. He is my mate and great company. When I am out side he follows me everywhere and is with me when feeding the chickens. I am very worried about him just now and he is getting extra T & C.

Sorry for doing me,me,me.

Wheelchair engineer came this morning, repeated that the batteries shouldn't come off and that his boss agreed with him.

He has put two parcel straps, those little plastic things, round the bar to stop the battery tray jumping off!

He has ALSO said that he is going to report it to the wheelchair service for inspection as it must be some kind of misuse!

How lucky that I had already been in touch with them!

My dad is not too far off ninety now. What sort of misuse is he likely to carry out?

If the engineer can't see the bent bar on the battery tray I do wonder if he should be driving that van.

Eileen, it doesn't sound odd that you feel under pressure, even though you like being needed no. The trouble with families is that they only see their needs and forget that their siblings also have needs, all of which fall on you. Do your daughters not talk to each other to get some idea of how much each of them rely on you? I don't know the answer though if you don't feel you can say anything to them.

As to the NASTY letter, without knowing what it is about none of us are able to comment, except to say, life is too short to have something like that hanging over you so maybe you should employ whoever helps with opening the letters to help you sort it out for once and for all.

Ann, thank you for your kind p.m. I am honestly not up to opening that very nasty-looking letter. Will really have to to wait until the weekend, when either daugher or her husband can do this for me. As I said to you, my ex. opened the last one when he was here last, but that proved innocuous. This one is burning a hole in the table.

My grandson Douglas phoned earlier this afternoon to ask if I would pick him up from that station. Daft thing, he could have phoned when in the train, then he would not have had to wait.

I am very greatful that ths NASTY letter didn't arrive months earlier, when my physical health was in a very bad state, but, on the other hand, it does knock me back to square one in a way now.

Daughter Andrea,(the badly handicapped one) who has been living in north Wales for some months, after moving from Brittany, keeps asking me whan I am going over there, because eldest daugher Indra, is expecting son number two in March. Difficult to say, what with this nasty letter hanging over my head etc. and other very pressing things, like, being there for daughter Sarah when she wants me with her soon.Yeah!. It IS good to feel really wanted/needed, but I also feel slightly under pressure, but would NEVER, ever say so to any of them.
Does this sound odd to any of you?
Kathy, I read your post wrongly, thought you said your 22 yrold had carried a dead person downstairs. This would not have suprised me, as I have come across some strange some very odd things over the years. !!!!

I wish you all a very peaceful, evening and night and hope that tomorrow begins and ends with happy thoughts.

Hi

Yes, also if anyone else niggles away at my family tree research I will just let them as they dont know the facts and have only read it but havent done the research. My Roberts illegitimacy story is rock solid and I have proven beyond doubt that it is pretty conclusive and the he was the father. 100% certainty is very difficult but the odds are soo high. The baby was baptised as his so she was. If he said he was the father then that is good enough. That is why he wed the mother 6 months after the birth. He couldnt marry her straight away as his wife died just before the birth. Conclusive.

People dont always think before they question and doubt. I have one doubt though - I doubt that he wasnt the father. Others opinions dont count and they can question all they like whther they are intelligent or not. Logic and intelligence dont always mix and many can be intelligent but not always logical.

They just dont understand as the story is very complex and it can be hard for them to absorb it but I bet if that was their tree, they'd be sure. I dont care what people say now. My research is pretty conclusive.

Message from Jules in Essex

Things aren't too good.

I'm not going in today, got a stinking cold, been getting worse since Friday so going to have a duvet day today n try n sweat it out of me.

I have decided to move back to Pershore, me n Graham aren't getting on as well as we'd like to n the twins are homeless n he's made if difficult for them to move in with us with some things he's said in the past about them ie; a week's long enough with them, we can't afford them, they got nowhere to sleep, they won't get off their a**** n do anything......but when you have kids you're there for them no matter what, he doesn't see that so I can only see one option n that is to move back 'home'. Had a knockback yesterday tho, the council there rang me n said I have no local connection with Pershore therefore go to the end of the waiting list, even tho I worked there n lived there for 16 years, one of my daughters lives there, Kacey's dad lives there.....!! So now I've got to look at private renting which range between £595/£700 pcm with fee's n deposits. I am leaving with no money, hardly any furniture n a bleek economy to try n find work....but....my kids are number one at the moment so I gota do it. Kacey is so excited about moving back, she's telling everyone...lol

Anyway....I will keep you informed, i will take everyones email addresses with me n when im back online i will let you know.

You can let everyone know the situation if you like incase they don't hear from me....Copy n paste the above paragraph n put on GR if you like....miss you all xxx

Hope you're well,

I agree Sharron, our older generation need us to speak for them. Funny thing is I could do it for my parents all the time, when it comes to myself I usually just give in and take it. But, that is how I was brought up as well. I have gotten to the point though that I am not going to take it any more. In a funny way I owe that to my younger Brother, he has just pushed me too far this time and I am now getting some strength to stand up for myself. Will find it hard for forgive him though, as he tried to push me so far under. I have clawed and scratched my way back and am stronger for it.

My little girl was lovely, she had long ginger hair and a tail like a fox, she also had a beautiful nature. She was very rare being a ginger female. Funny how they did holes in your heart.

Oh Gail,so sorry about your cat.We don't have snakes to contend with which is just as well.

My ginger boy died on the bed on the morning of the Christmas Eve before last.

After the engineer came and told us there was nothing wrong with the wheelchair my dad thought he might go out in it.Outside the backdoor the batteries fell off again!

I rung the company in tears of frustration and the engineer has conceded to order a new battery tray which he is hoping to bring today. How long have I been telling him the battery carrier was buckled?!

I have contacted the wheelchair service because I feel that they are not getting the service they should expect from their contractor and they can blow them up.

Fine,I am a bolshy old harridan but there are a lot of little old men and ladies out there trying to cope with the same problems. If it is getting to me,think what it must do to them.

Taking Dad's little brother,he is only 88,to Leg Club today.What a jet-set social life I lead!

Off goes my steam.

To those of you with problems that cannot be solved by just having a rant I wish a peaceful anf positive day.

I do not mind waiting for appointments, but felt hard done by when people were running late, we were on time and the late comers were allowed in before we were. Doctors are busy around here and very hard to get in country areas. I understand that he also takes his time with patients and has to also cope with emergencies. OH was talking about what happened at work, they all have the same problem as we did. They said that the receptionist chooses who goes in first, and lets people go ahead all the time, even if they do not have an appointment. Very frustrating. We are now going next week and will have our say to the doctor, I do not think he knows this is happening.

I have been on the war path this week. Standing up for myself for a change. Have seen solicitor, finally, and got that sorted. Had a prescription filled yesterday and opened it today to find it is not mine or my medication. Rang the chemist and told them. Luckily someone else did not get it and start taking the meds thinking it was new packaging. They had to send someone out to bring my script and take the other one back. Pharmacist was in a real spin and very upset. So now she is also on the war path. Heads will roll. But, someone else also got my meds, so hope nobody has taken them by mistake. Names are not even close on the packaging. Very scary.

We have sun and plenty of it. Temperature has been close to 40 c. So very dry. One bonus is not as much pain when its hot. I do not envy any of you the very cold winters you are having either. I will put up with the heat. Even in winter our day light is longer that in England, so do not get the winter blues as much for lack of sun.

Love it when someone says it is not supposed to happen. If the battery is falling off Sharron, it is falling off, so why can they not fix the problem. Glad someone has enough brains to put some clamps on it.

I have my new knife, must have ordered 2 of them by accident, so now have one in my handbag so no worries about forgetting to take it with me. I did not even spill a pea last night. Did not even have to sweep the floor after eating, was a bit of a pig before.

Grandson is now nearly 7 months, growing very fast and in size one clothes already. Daughter is very tiny, so bub has inherited tall genes from somewhere. Very tall people on both sides. I think that is why his head got stuck before he was born, do not think he had much room to move.

I have lost my beautiful ginger girl cat Ruby to snake bit. She was 12 years old, she save a neighbour from a brown snake a few years ago, she pounced on it as it was going to strike my neighbour. Snakes have been bad this year. We live close to a river, and pass through our place (sometimes stay) on the way to water. She was a gorgeous cat and will be missed greatly.

love and hugs

Gail

Oh my goodness, it all happens on here.

Glad there are some assertive folk around, Gail good for you, walking out altho a shame you both had to miss seeing the doc after making the effort to get there. If you can, or your husband will write to your dictation, you could send a letter to the doctor telling him what happened and suggesting he gets things better organised, many doctors will fine people for missing apptmts. My surgery is my 'home' one but now I am staying here I have a five mile drive and if my ibs starts up as I am ready to leave and then I hit bad traffic, I am sometimes late. The only female doctor is the one I usually see and she never rushes folk so always runs late - it doesn't bother me as I have time to sit and read a mag while waiting and I know she won't be rushing me either, but I can understand your annoyance when trying to fit in apptmt with your hubby's work.

Sharron, bet that engineer was in fear and trembling coming out to you lol
Shame about the bus but hope things work out right eventually so your Dad can get out more easily and you have a bit of a breather!

Ben, well done, keep up the good work, hope your job is ok now and you are working where you want to be.

To all, keep on a troshing as they say in Norfolk lol

I did get to the hospital and have my blood test done on Tuesday so will get results in a few days' time.

Afternoon everyone it's been a miserable, cold day here! Hope the sun comes out a bit tomorrow. I'm one week into my happy pills and I haven't had any side effects yet so I'm feeling a bit more positive.

Sharron so sorry to hear your dad's wheelchair, hope the G clamps do the trick. Sounds like you've really got your hands full.

Carole you should be so proud of this thread, from what I've read it's a real safe haven from the everyday stresses.

I had some good news yesterday. My brother had a stroke in June last year and it came as a hugh shock to us all, it was touch and go but he received excellant care in both Sheffield and back home in Lincoln. He came home in August but had to keep visiting both hospitals,, in November he went for a brain scan in Sheffield to check that all signs of his blood clot had gone. He went to Sheffield yesterday for his results and they're so happy with his progress that he's now been discharged from them. It's a huge weight lifted from us all.

Well I'd best toddle off, I've got some marriage certificates through the post today and it's turned up a couple of surprises so I'm going online to investigate

love to you all

Good afternoon everyone,

Another lovely, spring-like day.

Gail, it must have been very frustrating for you at your gp's.We have appointments over here, but even so, you can wait for an hour at least. He doesn't call people in by name either, so you have to watch like a hawk those that come in after you, whilst trying to appear nonchalant in doing so.
T.H, this may sound terible, but I was reminded of a line or two from Miss Read books when you rather casually said you had to go, because your daughter's house was on fire. Can't remember the name of a certain parson who M.R mentions, but she recites some lines which go roughly like this, "was called to the death bed of so and so, got there as he blew out his last breath", then goes on to say what they had for their meal after this.
Years ago, when my eldest and family lived in Holland still, I was woken up by the phone ringing in the middle of the night, to tell me that their house was on fire. Eleanor was still living at home, so we both dressed and rushed there. The whole ceiling in the living room was alight, had been smoldering for a long time without them knowing this.It was a bad fault in the closed-in fire range (hearth range?), that set the ceiling alight.No-one was hurt, we brought them all back here until the house was seen to.What a night though. Fiona (the one who drove her car into a ditch-will she ever live this down.lol)had completely mad neighbour where she used to live, had tried time and time again to get help for the poor woman, and was also very scared, because she had left the gas on etc. sooo often. This was the downstairs flat to them.No-one at the housing association took any notice of her pleas, until the night when the flat did go up in flames, ruining all those upstairs and around the flat.Luckilly everone got out safely, and were mostly all taken in to daughter Sarah's flat opposite.Sarah was woken up by the terrific noise the burning building made.Very, very scary. In this same block of flats (only 4 high), the man above her got up onto the top floor roof and jumped onto the patio outside Fiona's back door. Her husband phoned Sarah after calling an ambulance.Won't go into details, but it was a horrific job for S to clean up and for F. to cradle him whilst waiting. These used to be what would be called 'social housing' ,before they were renovated and /or sold off.Another man down the road jumped out of the window wearing a crash helmet.!!!!

Yesterday, a nasty looking envelope arrived, which has set my innerds churning again.Cannot bring myself to open it, will wait until the weekend.

On a lighter note, grandson Douglas had his first driving lesson on monday, took his theory test and passed yesterday. He will be going for the practical part in a few weeks time.

I wish all of you peace of mind and body, those in pain for it to ease.

Love to all.

Sharron Report 28 Jan 2009 13:52

So many doctor's receptionists seem to be well up themselves. They are so focussed on running the business efficiently that they forget they are dealing with people.I always put the phone down on one at our practice.I will tell tou about it one day.

Meanwhile, the wheelchair engineer has been round. The batteries shouldn't fall off. Can't disagree with that but they do and they didn't before it went to have the new motor installed.

It is because he was coming over the doorstep.Well he has been over the doorstep mamy times,it is an outdoor wheelchair and we have never dismantled the house to get him out.

A friend is going to put some G cramps on the battery holder to keep them on.Let us hope that does the trick.

Had him all ready to go off to the hairdressers on the service bus.The one with the disabled access is off the road today so he could not get on.

All this is getting me down a bit now.Bloody frustration!
