I am REALLY CHEESED OFF.

OH and I both had and appointment at the doctors today. He does not do mornings here any more and we had to travel to next town. OH is on shift work, so no car of afternoon. We arrived a few minutes early, (hate to be late for appointments). There were a few people waiting and they went through to doctors. While we were waiting for our appointments, 7 others turned up as well. Horror of horrors 6 of the 7 were called in before we were. When we asked what was going on and why, we were they (other 7 people) were booked in before us, we were told that we were 5 minutes early after all, the other 7 were late for their appointments and we just had to wait.

Needless to say, we both walked out. I did tell them to cancel our appointments and why. I felt it was very rude. OH by this time was running short of time to have lunch and get ready for work, it was rush, rush when we got home.

What would you have done?

This is not the first time they have done this to us, it is the first time that we walked out though.

Sharron, I know what you mean about opportunity for peoples after care. After 18 months of pushing I managed to get into rehab and pain management for 3 weeks. I was great but when it was over there was no more contact and has been on my own now for 6 years. Not entitled to anything else as OH works.

I am very pig headed and it was a matter of I will show them.

Because of your own pig headedness, (I did not put caring, so there) your father has a quality of life he would not have attained with out you. I know from experience that feeling useful and being able to do things for yourself, no matter how mundane, makes me feel like I am contributing. Even if it is only peeling potatoes.

Notice things have been quite after a couple of off putting posts. I know they have been removed, I did read them and must say it really saddened me, yes angered me as well. The only thing I am glad about is it was not one of our family. It felt like my safe home was invaded. That is putting it mildly.

Treehunter, do you know why this story was told? It would be so interesting to try and find out. I love a mystery. I have found so many thing since starting this. Was many months trying to find what had happened to one many great grandmothers. She was supposed to have drowned when a famous ship sank. Searched passenger lists of that ship and many others, plus BMD's, libraries. The information was handed down 4 generations. Eventually, by contact with a distant relly, found she had run off with another fella to NZ and lived a long and happy life there. Let us know what you find out, this is exciting.

I hope Liz that you get to have your blood tests this week and they are okay.

Lots of hugs and love to Y/Caz. I know you are keeping an eye on us. Thinking of you and hope your pain is at a level you can manage now.

I brain is a bit fuzzy today, if I have not mentioned somebody, does not mean I am not thinking of you.

My older brother came for the long weekend, he stayed at my dad's place so could do some work there. It was great as was able to see him for 3 days in a row.

Bye for now

Happy old codger here today.Made his own dinner, washed up,did the spuds and veg, took the crocks out, dried up.Smiling like it was his own birthday.

We have an occupational therapist coming on Tuesday, for the third time in two years. That is only because I need his arm brace adjusted. Was given some explanation about not coming if progress was only going to be slow and not very much.

Had they given him the opportunity in hospital he could have done a lot more. They wouldn't even let him eat.Well it didn't take long when he came home.He had his peg out in less than six months.I don't know how he was supposed to get his swallow back if he had nothing to chew.

Oh dear,I'm ranting again but I am doing what they were paid to do.

Enough,I will shut up.

Happy Birthday Sharon

Hope you have a good one !!!!

You make me laugh with your dad's antics .

I wasn't on the boards all week end .Horrific committe meeting on saturday that lasted almost 4 hrs !!!!! Sunday was a family meal at my sister's to celebrate my baby's birthday ( 20 ! ) and my nephews engagement .I managed to drive there even though I probably added an extra 10 miles going through the countryside rather than the city traffic jams but at least I did it .

Hope you are all well

love

No card from him.He gave my partner a tenner this morning and asked him to get me something but, being the hard faced old battle-axe again,I told him to give it back and make the old man get me something tomorrow.

He goes out on the mini-bus tomorrow and he can buy it himself. What does he think he is,disabled or something?!

THE ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!

The carers are just seeing to his ablutions and they will winch him into it when he has finished.

I don't have to wash up any more and he can get his own potatoes to peel.

Maybe he can peel me a few grapes in between whiles.

Am very saddened to hear about Angie's mum.I had a mail a week or so ago from A. saying that mum was living with them because of her health deteriorating so quickly.Angie is a very courageous woman, wonderful daugher.

Will be keeping her in my thoughts, along with all of your who are in any kind of pain whatsoever.

Love. Eileen xx
