Well can you shout a bit quieter please, most of us are asleep over here.
Hi gail, not posted for a couple of days I don't think but been reading, I'd love to be where you are with your new chickens. The parrots sound gorgeous I am going to make a list of them and look them all up, forgot to to it while reading. That group hug was a good one, trouble is I deleted it and now only have a memory of all those lovely behinds. Is that the one you meant?
Still half asleep so will write later when my brain has woken up a bit.

Caz xx

Sorry Gail, missed you, hope you are ok, and the chickens are doing well.

Our Betty asked me to tell you all she sends her love. She isn't getting the support she should have at home, such a shame that lovely lady should have to carry the family on her shoulders alone.

Have a good Friday/Halloween.

Someone I let view my tree early on. I then would not give them access at all. No the rules have not changed, and I think it is right to hide the living ones, though now I have taken them off all together and only have living instead of names. You learn the hard way at times. I was lucky as was with Ancestry for a year before joining GR. Was and still horrified at the amount of people that do not hide the living.

Claddagh Report 30 Oct 2008 11:20

Thanks for replying Gail.I certainly won't open for this person. When I first joined GR, I was foolish enough to do this for a member. He took all my rellies, put them on his tree, but never allowed me to view his. After many requests to him,not getting a reply, I had to ask GR to make him remove all my living rellies.Of course he still has them on paper probably. This was a good lesson though.
Can't say I've noticed posts being doubled up.There is obviously something wrong somewhere.Who told you off for hiding living people? Surely you can choose to do so, or have the rules changed again?

Yes I have had a couple like that, thought it was a GR problem, although do some get persistent. I do not open unless there is a strong link. But then do not keep much on GR, only direct lines as it will not let me download my Geodcom file.

I have noticed lately that you can put a post on a thread and it doubles up. Wonder if it is doing the same with PM's. Have been told off a couple of times for hiding living people.

Gail, don't you think that Carole has been spying on us? How DOES she know what our backsides look like?
Deanna used to send me a lot of funnies as well.

I meant to ask if any of you know what I can do about the following;just over a week ago, I received two p.m's from a certain J.S( most common English names) asking to view my tree, and giving me permission to view his.Had a look at his tree, could see nothing on it to warrant opening mine to him.Sent a short message to him saying this.He sent one word back, "thank you".On tuesday, he sent me two p.m's again, asking the same question, I sent him a reply, said the same first time.He replied with "thank you"again. Today, another two p.m's arrived, exactly the same as the others. One of my daughters said it was spam.I mailed GR this morning asking if this is possible.
Have any of you had a similar experience?

Hi everyone,

Have been kept busy, which can only be a good thing.
Mary, the story about your granddaughter made me laugh. Thanks for that.
Judith, welcome on this thread. You will get a lot of support from the those that understand how you feel.My sister lost her husband in august last year, just over two months after he was diagnosed with leukaemia. She was knocked sideways.I managed to persuade her to take A.D. which she did.Only in the last 6 weeks has she started to pick up the pieces again.Still misses him like mad though.
Joyce, keep your chin up.It is very hard to have to stand on the sidelines and watch your loved ones, not being able to help them.Remember what I said on the phone this week?
Gail, snakes are something I would not want in the garden, but,I have to admit to liking them.Their skin feels so silky. When on holiday with my son in France about 8 years ago, I was sitting next to a big lake, when I saw a large snake emerge from the water, and slither past, close enough for me to stroke it, and make some close-up photos. It was a beautiful colour. The poor thing was being thrown into the water by a group of teenagers from Paris.Soooo cruel. It was terrified. When they got fed up with this, they put it back into small box.
Carole, you cheeky devil, thongs! As if I could get my derriere into one.Just as well you are going on holiday soon!! lol.Ioved the funny, that backside looked just like mine.
Thanks for the mention Liz.Not too good to be honest.
Wishing all of you a good day, as free from pain and stress as possible.

Poor Judith. On the up side. Now you know why you have been feeling physically low youcan have something done about it.Then you will feel mentally stronger to deal with your grief.

Spaghetti, don't you just so much admire those people who order spaghetti in a restaurant.I know I am going to look like I am wearing a top with a squiggly design if I eat it.Come to think of it,when I am dining out (there's posh) I try to only order food that roughly matches the colour of my clothes. Then the bits I drop don't show as much.

GranOfOzRubySlippers Report 30 Oct 2008 05:31

Big Big welcome to Judith, no getting away from us as you are family now. Big G'day to Fran as well.

Carole, have a lovely trip. Enjoy yourself and lots of pics please.

Mary my lot did not have any problems when small, but your dinner times do not sound any different than any normal family. My lot used to love spaghetti bol and I remember feeding them and going to have a bath, bath was cut short because of noise. They decided to have a food fight with the spaghetti. Had lounge/dinning room covered in it even the ceiling. They were up to 10:30 pm (school night) cleaning it off.

Ben, you know yourself how much work you put into researching your tree, they are only trying to upset you. Stick with to what you know is right. Glad the job is going well.

Liz, it is hard to do the imagery bit, it will get easier though, and can be fun. Stick with it, it all takes time. We are here for you and you already know that.

Dutch hope you are feeling a bit better today.

Love and hugs to all

Gail

Hi everyone, special hello to Judith, you have had a rough time, I am glad you have found us here so you can come and talk to us when things get you down.
Hope you get the kidney problems sorted, I had kidney stones a while back and they were agony, luckily I passed the little blighters but am careful now to drink less coffee and more water altho I have to have hijuice in it as can't drink plain water, ugh!
When they are on special offer, I stock up on Cranberry capsules from H and B as it is cheaper than buying the Ocean Spray cranberry drink which is mainly water.

Mary, how you cope I don't know, bless you, with such chaotic meal times and such. You must have the patience of a saint. Your Sarah's antics make me giggle, bless her, altho I can understand your worries for when she is older. Maybe best to just worry about the next few months and hope at some point Sarah learns more appropriate behaviour for when she is older.
By the way, you didn't tell me what size!

Fran, hello, I am glad you find this little corner useful, and you know, sometimes it helps to have a weep over other people's stories, bit like crying over a film but you can add your support and possibly advice too, and feel you are part of one big family.

Ben hiya, glad you are enjoying the promotion, and try to ignore those people who niggle at your hard work on your tree, you go with your gut feeling and do things the way you think is right, I am sure you are thorough enough to get most of it correct anyway.

Dutch, sorry you are so worried by your family and hope things work out ok and that Rachel manages to persuade Danni to be careful. Maybe a Christmas fairy will wave her wand and get you to see them somehow.

Would lend you my magic carpet but it's in for a service, it was busy today. Had to go to the nlp session, well bless him, the therapist is a lovely man but I do humour him, just can't do visualisations so was saying yes and no in what I think were the right places as he was saying excellent, well done etc. Told me to imagine my life, my future, how did I see it, says I a long road in front of me with no end that I could see, my past a rope stretching out to the side of me, not behind me. Then he said imagine you are sitting on a magic carpet (I had to smile to myself as I often wish for one to come and visit you all lol) He made me go up and down on this carpet like a flippin lift, then made me go above my road and rope and look down and travel to a place where I was angry and bitter. Did that, all the time with my hands on my lap and my eyes closed, but could hear a conversation next door and earwigged into that a bit, lol, then had to travel a bit more on my carpet. Have to admit I came out feeling a bit relaxed but not sure it will help my hoarding problems, still have to give it a try! Had a few tears along the session as usual, but suppose they were sort of healing tears, came out all red eyed - good thing I have waterproof mascara lol

Haven't seen our Betty today, hope you are ok love, wish you could your computer fixed up.

Just sent a message to our Eileen, as haven't seen her on here.
Hope you are ok love.

Carole, have a wonderful holiday, I hope you aren't as bad at packing as me, I take far too much and bring lots back unworn lol My son says I don't just take the kitchen sink but the water too lol

Love and hugs to everyone, sorry to those I have missed off, the old brain is tired.

Better days soon, I hope, for us all.

Dear Judith, we are happy to welcome you to this thread. Feel free to let the frustration out, we are all at different stages of depression/anxiety, on any given day. But we are here for each other, and I for one, am so grateful for this safe place.

For those who know about my fiasco with the Citalopram, I have managed to get back down to
40mg daily and will stay there now. No more side effects, except the strong desire to sleep at any given moment. Never in my life have I been able to fall asleep in a chair, now I can doze off no problem.

Tonight at supper we only had 4 things become airborne, a glass of water, a fork, a spoon and some mashed potato. This was my grandson, while Sarah was much too busy eating her own supper and surreptitiously pinching bits off other plates. She loves chicken, mashed spuds and green beans so she was happy today.

We are forecast snow flurries tonight, one of these days I need to tidy the back garden when I have nothing else to do or it will be a right mess in the spring !!

have a good night all, hugs where needed,
Mary

Just been reading some of the threads I'm also suffering from depresion after losing my husband of 40 years on the 15 October last year. His death from cancer was so quick only 2 weeks after being diagnosed I could'nt take it in.His two brothers also died fron cancer this year, one in April and one in August so this has been an awfull year for me.My health is not good and just found out I have kidney stones and a cyst in one of my kidney's which is making me feel very tired and low.I try to be possitive but some day's feel as if I could just give up. I know there are others worse off than me but sometimes that knowledge doesn't help.Hope I haven't depressed you all to much but it's good to get feeling's off your chest.

Ben Deanna isn't allowed visitors but the nurses tell her family she is doing well. x

Mary I wondered why I hadn't seen any thread for your birthday! xx

Gail I'm pleased we do not get many snakes here.
Bless your dog, my dog would be like that lolxx

Caz is the new medication helping you? xxx

Fran hi, how are you? x

Eileen where is that thong! x

Dutch I'm so sorry you are worrying about your family. It's hard to let them get into trouble and
watch isn't it. My son has us watching his mistakes
again. I feel they will get worse. (he got done for speeding, and didn't send off his letter) So got a reminder today, but we found out he is already in debt and oh and I are so worried. xx Goodness knows how much his fine will be.

No more working days to my holiday. I will try to look in on you from Ohio. I have to make sure you are all behaving. The weather there is as cold as here. Packing tomorrow. xxx

Hi

How is Deanna getting on? I hope she gets well soon.

I am doing well with my new promotion. Been 4 weeks since I began.

What I find irrititating, and what doesnt help my OCD is when in genealogy you have built up a lot of evidence through findings and then some know all has to pick holes ,etc, in the findings, and try and jump on your sandcastle and argue the evidence. I suppose some of you have had that before even when you know you are right?

I worry if she continues this type of behaviour when she's in her teens LOL.
I'm positive she knows when she does something inappropriate, because it's always accompanied by giggles. Oh if we could just get her to talk,I'm sure we'd get an earful, bless her.
