Well I ended up sleeping off and on till 6pm!

Got up and made dinner and didn't do much else all evening, luckily o.h. went to bed early so was peaceful by 10pm!

Ann, I think a lot of our rubbish collections etc are done by sub contractors so we weren't affected by the strikes.

Liz, just to say, be grateful you have bin men today. It is not our collection day but no sign of them in the half of the village that should have them so they must be taking part in the strike.

Hi all, got woken by bin men, then heard the window cleaner so had to get up and move car, open back gate and move plants away from patio door - if he had broken the flowering lilies o.h. would have been cross - and find some money to pay him!
Might get back to bed for a snooze in a bit, if I don't I will collapse in a heap in a little while! Why can't the flaming w-cleaner come the week o.h. is here in the mornings?!
Kathy, hope the spiders and stuff stay out of the way, sounds like you are surrounded by strong men, Not! lol Glad the Insurance will sort out the problems and hope it won't take too long to get finished. Will call you when o.h. is at work Saturday or next week.

I was away for a long weekend and when I came on last night was too tired to write a reply so just read.
Kathy, hope everything is soon completed for you.
Carole, wasn't Mama Mia great? Everyone who want a laugh should go and see it, so funny. And (without giving anything away) if you go, don't leave before the credits like a lot of people did when i went, stupid people, it doesn't finish until the credits roll.

Gail, I did add my congratulations to another thread but will say it again here. congratulations and I hope your Daughter's and baby's health will continue to improve. good to see you on here again.

Hi everyone

Not been able to post for a while as I have been busy trying to sort out the burst pipe problem.

Good news is the insurance will pay for it .The bad news is my kitchen floor was lifted this morning to allow them to bring in machines to dry out the floor .

They wanted me to move out but I explained that I don't do going away from home so they let me stay but warned if I fall down the hole it is my own problem .They have agreed to pay me £5 per day per person for food .That just about covers a fish supper.

Son is terrified we will be inundated with spiders and other creepy things so I asked the joiner to get rid of any he saw .His reply was that if he saw any he would be out the door first !!!!

Well better go get on with tidying up

I was not here at all yesterday , as my boy took me out.
We went looking for a birthday present for his partner... her mobile is not working so we were looking at them.
I bought some little baby clothes and then went to see our beautiful new baby.
You can't leave them alone for 5 minutes at that age...when you back, they have grown so much.
I sat with him all cuddled up in my warm comfy *fat*... and he slept so well.... his real granny is very well endowed too, so all in all he is a very lucky little boy.. of course his daddy's mum is a nice slim lady.... I suppose he will be *QUITE COMFY* with her .... ha ha ha .
He is such a little darling... tell me if you get bored with me and I will TRY to stop talking about him!

Having Allan's sister and her hubby over later so I really should go an sit with him.
I'm a bit ... sore all over today. I don't know why, but I am learning to live with my 'ups and downs'.

hi carole it was lovley to hear from you well i dont get much time to post on thread latley but promise i will catch up with everyone quite soon hope everyone is well on there give them all my regards for me well hubby getting there slowly verey slowly got more blood tests today to cheak hie inr warafrin levals he on a lot of tablets and hasto have more bloods on friday as liver one showed up something and have to see doc after well i feel like a chemist with all these pills i have to make sure he has ,he still verey tired and sleeps most of time .as for me i forgot to get my meds from docs and carnt get them till latter today at the min im not to bad just a bit anx shaky and dry mouthed but nothink compared to what hubby been through please give everyone my love and ill catch them all soon hugs elaine xx

Liz what a worry for you. You have to look after you though. Tell your cousin straight you can't go at the moment. My friend had kidney stones and was in awful pain usually at night he would be up drinking or just quietly watching tv, so as not to disturb his wife. In the end he had to have an ambulance out as he couldn't cope with the pain. It was during the strike a few years ago, and they had to come out as he was on morphine. Don't let yours get that bad.
You reminded me I need to take repeat request in today so I don't run out again!!

I had a bit of a tidy up in my contacts but it deleted messages too! So when I realised what happened ( I read the message that says that will happen) I stopped but had lost lots of names. Then when I wanted to send pm's I couldn't. I'll have to go back through thread to find people!

Well no work today. But must do some work round the house.

Hi all, first off, Angela, well done on completing the walk and hope you aren't feeling too bad now.

Gail, so pleased little one is here and sorry there was such worry for you all at the time, hope your daughter is soon feeling lots better and able to enjoy her little one. You must have been so worried but hope you can relax a bit now.

It never rains but what it pours here!
My cousin in Buckingham who I am supposed to be visiting, had to go to hospital to have a procedure done on her pacemaker and a further stent put in or something, all went well, she expected to be in hospital a couple of days from last Tuesday.
I didn't hear from her and finally got her today, to hear she came up from the op ok, ate her sandwich meal etc and then didn't remember a thing for nearly a day! She had a stroke, a bleed on the brain, but apparently it is healed now. Her son spent the whole night at her bedside and she had to stay in hospital until Saturday. She is now home but her son stayed over last night and may stay over again. She has to take a high dosage of aspirin instead of warfarin which she was on already, for a couple of weeks, then take a combination of both I think she said.
Then she is worrying me about what date I will visit. I really don't want to go at the mo, as I think I have another kidney stone, have been sore all weekend, since Friday, and trying to flush it through, but that means I am in and out of bed to use the loo, so more tired than usual. I had a doctor's apptmt today anyway so told her and she has arranged an apptmt at the nephrology dept at our hospital for 11th August. She asked where I would like to go for the apptmt, anywhere in the world lol but they won't pay the fare! What a shame! It means tho that I don't want to travel far from home till I know the problem is sorted, last time I was in agony and went in as an emergency, because the pain was so bad, so would hate to end up in hospital miles from home.
Must remember to keep drinking lots tho and hope it goes away. Should have left her a wee sample so took the bottle into the loo, and managed to miss completely, they never give you anything to use and my aim was hopeless lol
Said I would try later while I was near the surgery, and drop it back, and then went off and forgot all about it lol, so have to do one here and take in another day. Also have to have more blood tests so will have those on the 11th while at the hospital, easiest way to do it as they want me in to the surgery before 12 midday and I told them I don't do mornings lol!

Not an easy week as o.h. on earlies so here every afternoon and for dinner :>((

Hi all! Thanks Deanna for thinking of me when you have your own probs. I have been reading but did not feel like posting. Have been without a car for 2 weeks & where I am the buses are few & far between. I went a whole week without being able to go shopping, needless to say the cupboards got a bit bare! Lol!
I managed to do the Race(crawl) for Life yesterday but am exausted today. I know that I shouldn't have done it but felt I needed to. Not only did I loose Eddie to Cancer but also my lovely Dad, Nana, Aunt, Cousin & a good friend.

Generally speaking I am not doing too bad, sleeping a lot tho.
Hugs & healing thoughts go to all of you that need them.

Hi Gail, congratulations to everyone, I'm so glad it turned out ok in the end. We have missed you on here.
I haven't been posting as I have been through a very bad time last couple of weeks, but I had to come and say how pleased I am for you.

Rach I am so sorry to hear of your gr aunt, I am sharing your sorrow this weekend.

I've not been ignoring everyone on purpose, I have just found it so hard to post anything, and you know about last week. I have been reading and keeping up with you all though.
I will post more when I feel up to it.

Hi to everyone. I am back. Have only just arrived home and could not get net connection where we were.

Baby boy born on 6/7/08 7 lbs. Sorry for not contacting earlier, grandson was 2 weeks over due in the end. Nearly lost daughter and grandson as very difficult birth. grandson is well now and healthy and daughter is on the slow mend. We are blessed to have them both.

Will get back when less tired.
