Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 23 May 2008 03:05

Hi all, slept most of today as I really didn't get a lot of rest on those days o.h. was away, and he arrived home an hour earlier than expected Weds night too. I think everything caught up with me but altho I slept almost11 hrs I am still a bit tired.
He took the Fiesta to be mot'd on his way to work but had overslept so didn't have time to make a pack up, he brought the car back after his shift and pottered round the garden etc but later when I got up he said he didn't feel well. Didn't want a meal but then I realised he had hardly eaten all day and I think he had been drinking this afternoon, he was very confused which is the way he gets when exhausted. I was so worried at one point I almost called an ambulance. He is not a good patient, well he is a man lol. Got him to eat toast and shortbread and have a cuppa and he slept in the chair and said he felt better, then went to bed. He didn't bother to bath when he got home from work, as he usually does, which annoyed me as I had only changed the bedding on Monday. Good thing it is only a short shift Friday. He can rest in the afternoon and I will cook him a good meal later on. What's the betting he will still go in and do a voluntary 10/12 hr shift on Saturday. I think it is just as well we have the holiday coming up but the bathroom is still not finished and so he will have that waiting for him when he gets back altho he will be away the following weekend for Father's Day, visiting his son and he goes there by train.
Kathy, well done you with all your hard work and hope you get the money back ok.

Mary, how lovely to get those herbs and things, chocolate mint sounds gorgeous. You can buy some flowers called Cosmos I think they are, that smell of chocolate too, you have to get the right ones tho. Glad you could indulge yourself a little, to help your mental state a bit. Hope things look better for you all soon.

Y Caz, so sorry you are suffering so much at the mo and hope you will find some relief from the pain soon, don't know what to suggest to help you, wish I could do something to help.

For all of you, this is the best my brain will do at the mo, still juggling my finances as I have to pay over £100 car tax at the end of the month, just as we start our holiday. Good thing I don't need much to take with me, and not a place to be buying lots of souveniers.
love and hugs to you all, you too Joyce and hope everyone has a good weekend coming up, forecast isn't good but then what's new, it's Bank Holiday lol
Lizxxx

Ann, bus pass not here yet, hope it arrives before next Friday so I can take it on holiday, can hop on the bus then if I don't feel like driving and o.h.is off elsewhere, or we can both use the buses, with only one paying it will probably be cheaper than petrol and carparking lol

Hi all

need to polish my halo and preen my wings did a one hour stint in the register office today for some one and managed to get over 30 certificates .Got writers cramp and a head like broth but it is fun and she is over the moon.
We are so lucky here in scotland ( rub it in ) to have immediate access to records .
I find doing things like that gives me a purpose for forcing myself out and takes my mind off the dreaded panic attacks .
I am £15 lighter but have no doubt the lady will pay me back .
Y Caz so sorry to see you are in so much pain .Why do you not contact NFSH and see if you can get a healer to come visit .It really can do no harm and might help with the pain .Wish I lived closer to you
Love and thoughts to you all my brain is as I said like broth after my research today .so can't remember everyones posts

Hi everyone
Hope the weather is being kind in your neck of the woods, it's lovely here in Doncaster.
I have just heard my voluntary group is probably closing down, it is such a shame it has been a great success, so I will maybe have to look for something else, but not yet too many family problems to deal with.
Elaine I am glad your hubby got sorted
Love to all

Hi all, have to be quick - too much to fit into a short time before work. Unbelievably cold the past 2 days, so no gardening. But yesterday I had to go out to deliver supper to sarah at therapy (she stays till 7pm twice a week), and was feeling edgy coming home so I took a short side trip to the herb farm. It was so calming there, it's way back in the country they also raise bassett hounds so it was a bit noisy when i arrived, but once in the huge greenhouse, it was a different world. I had only a small amount of money with me but came home with more herbs for my garden, ones I thought i would use. They had several different varieties of mint, apart from regular and spearmint, they had lemon mint, orange mint pineapple mint and CHOCOLATE mint. Oh the smell was divine. Six different types of lavender, I'll have to return for some of them. I came home with choc and orange mint, parsley, coriander, purple sage, creeping rosemary. Already have thyme, lemon balm, chives, garlic, oregano and lemon thyme growing, so I'm off to a good start, and was much more relaxed by the time I came home. That's the important part. I begrudge the cost of fuel for the van, but my mental health has top priority when it's not far to travel. if it wasn't for having to transport 7 people many times a week, I'd get rid of my van and buy a more economical car. But I love my van, feel safe on the road and seating is very comfortable.
off to do some chores now, have a good day dear friends.

Hi Jeannie, I did remark that the gammon and egg looked nice. it was the first time we had been to that B Fayre and some of them seemed to have changed. (Twigworth and Cross hands) we always used to go to the Harvester (Waggon and Horses is it?) but it is a sizzler now so not sure about it, we liked the salad bar before.

hope you get your washing machine back soon, not going to be beaten is he?

Caz, the fact that you are able to laugh at yourself proves what a brave lady you are. Sorry you are in so much pain and please feel free to come on here and scream at us and fate any time.

Deanna, I could not see the point of people having to and being willing to pay all that money just to see two english teams play. what stupid rules they have and what a waste of money too.

Joyce, I could just picture Toby looking lovingly at the cushion before attacking it!! What a shame that the computer failed to 'play' for your lesson, waste of your time. still good to see that the professionals have problems too.

go on be a devil, go and ride a horse - not that you would get me on the back of one!!!

Sue, don't 'do' ebay, can you get Avoplex oil anywhere else? Sounds interesting.

Liz, that went quickly, Did you enjoy your time alone? got your bus pass yet?

Well we met friends for coffee at Wyvale Garden centre this morning then just had to buy some plants of course, by the time we had also bought bird seed and fat balles it was £17. doesn't it addd up?

Then we went to a brewers fayre for lunch, OH had fish and chips and I had scampi and chips (2 meals for £9 so a good deal) plus a small glass of wine. Then we did the Tesco shop. shattered now ans should be doing the minutes of the meeting I was at on Tuesday.

YorkshireCaz Report 22 May 2008 15:02

Hi everyone,
Sue I wouldn't be able to reach my toes in a month of Sundays, and a stick would be no good as with only having one eye that works right I can't see very well at that distance. Lol.
Don't know why I am laughing, it is the last thing I want to do, can I have a moan, am I allowed.
For the first time today I have become scared of being on my own, I think the time has come when I need a full time carer, to start thinking of hubby giving up work. I am in so much pain, all my illnesses have decided to gang up on me all at once, arthritis in my knees making it nearly impossible to get up and down stairs. My back is excrutiating(sp) and I can hear it crunching and grinding in deterioration at bottom, the pain of fm is getting worse, I don't know if it carries on getting worse, someone will have to let me know. It's creeping from across my shoulders up my neck now, making it hard to turn from side to side. Worst of all though is that when I try and walk I am lurching all over, trying to stay upright. Try not to walk though as my feet are still very sore. I saw consultant yesterday and he has given me a two month break from chemo, he said although it has worked well I have had a very bad reaction to it. He may not even put me back on it when I see him in two months, depends if my feet have healed up properly, as he said, they are a mess.
Sorry but I just had to get it out, I don't think I moan a lot but today I feel like screaming it out.

Love to you all.
Caz xx

Sue Report 22 May 2008 12:55

Afternoon all,

Just a quick post re toenails (don't laugh).

Before I couldn't reach my right foot I always gave myself a weekly pedicure including painting the nails.

I wore sandals last week and looked at my feet and felt ashamed. Thick, ridged, flaky nails YUCK! Time for action!

I have been painting nails with Avoplex Oil (which I have always used on hands) every night. You don't have to be exact just slop it around the nail, matters not if if goes on your skin. Plus you can tape the brush on a stick to reach your foot.

After four days my nails are fit to be seen in public again.

I know it's only a small thing but it has made me feel better.

You can find it on ebay at reasonable prices, (OPI),
one bottle lasts me about 9 months!

Maybe this will help someone.

Love to all

Sue xx

Justice of Peace

Justice of Peace Report 22 May 2008 10:12

Good morning all you kind and gentle souls xxxxx

As 'they' say, another day another dollar and wonder what today will bring for each of us, lots of happy pain free hours I hope xx

Well my day started around 2am, the usual palaver of not being able to sleep, the little room, endless cups of tea, switching the TV channels hoping to find something of interest, etc, I must walk quite a few miles in the early hours. Did think of going outdoors and checking on the plants I potted yesterday but did not wish to be labeled that potty woman who talks to her plants..and not properly attired either..as if I care xx

Daughter arrived as usual with Toby who proceeded to lick me all over, well nearly lol, waited for S to depart then attempted to make himself comfortable on the settee, cushions surplus to his requirements went flying through the air and he settled down with a cushion between his paws ready for sleep, or so I thought!, he then started attacking this cushion as if it was prey.. he was not amused when I chastised him.
By the way Y Caz it would appear I have a second clown to my bow now, in the form of one dog, do you think the pair of you could join forces and form an act, you of course being the star and T your assistant lol xxxx
It would appear that the pooch has great balancing potential, last week he decided to show off his talent by gently putting his front paws onto a foot stool I have, he then gingerly lifted one of his back paws and placed it on the stool, followed by his other one...there he stood wobbling away and I was waiting for him to fall, but no, he stood up and placed his front paws on the window sill and proceeded to look out of the lounge window, realising he could see right up the court he put his nose out of the window stayed there, his favourite spot now.
Then on Tuesday he decided to try this act of balancing on the settee, when I walked in from the kitchen his front paws were on my writing bureau and his nose was poking into the little compartments... I wonder what he was looking for...just being inquisitive I reckon.

Enough of Toby and back to computer lesson of yesterday, no giggles to report just sheer frustration on my part!. As mentioned in an earlier posting when I was not able to complete a test paper due to computer shutting down on me and no time left to redo it.. well yesterday another test paper consisting of three sections, clicked on the first part and waited for it to load up, it stuck on 44...loaded up part two, fine..third part same as first...my tutor told me to walk around outside and he would fix it but with no luck... was then told to go and make the tea and coffee for our break..by which time I was really fuming, what a wasted morning... never mind there is always next week!.

With my daughter being on holiday from work this week she asked if I would like to go to her stables this afternoon just hope to god she does not expect me to sit astride one of her beloved horses, last time I 'rode' a horse was when I was evacuated, I was about 7/8 years old and the farmer put me astride a cart horse who decided to give me a ride...it charged around this field with me clinging onto it's mane, it's hooves thundering the ground and me screaming for my mommy!!!, never been on one since, not even a seaside donkey!

It all comes down to travel...anything to do with travel is a no go area of my life, be it bikes, cars, trains or planes..it is my nemesis... but that is a tale for a future posting xx.

Well I have waffled away and not really mentioned any of you individually, sorry folks xx perhaps I will post again a little later and put that to right, okay.

In the meantime I have chores to attend to so will love and leave you for now..have a good day xxx

Good evening everyone. Oh is out in town watching football.
I got a phone call this morning, my counselling was cancelled again! So got up at seven when I could have had a lie in. Never mind I was dreading it anyway!!

I thought this thread was moving a lot slower as it approached 3000, but it's flying again! The good news is we have new people to help, and some of us oldies are feeling better.

Carolina eating for two?!!
Cleaning and cooking! Sounds like nesting instinct.
Just kidding!
Just the fact you are doing those things shows you have a new outlook. They are things we don't care about when we are really low. So I'm pleased for you Carolina. xx

Anyone know how Malc is doing?

Dave are you still looking in? Wondered how interview went. x

Love to you all Carole xx

Deanna, glad that you were able to give us a long post this time, it must be so frustrating when your hands hurt. I am sure being out in the garden helps you OH to feel better in himself, even if it worries you.
Sue, pleased you were able to find somewhere nice to sit on Sunday, by a pub and a river. your graphic description of getting your socks on made me smile. Sorry!!! I have a similar problem with socks, knickers and trousers when my back is having a bad session. contortionist is not in it!! Firstly..... Angela, I am so sorry for your loss. I know that you will be feeling so much better seeing that Eddie is no longer in pain. God Bless him.

I am a bit behind as I have had a very sore hand..... both of them really, which is unusual.

Welcome Bernie, and Paul, hope you get as much from this thread as the rest of get.... Somewhere to tell your troubles and not fear ridicule or abuse. Also, somewhere to get a bit of comfort.

Elaine , How is your husband today? Did he have his ECG?
Mine is out in the garden.... how do I stop him??
He is happy though just now.... keeps his mind off the cardiologists appointment which is not through yet!

Gill... my back is also sore today, but what the h***, if it isn't one pain it's another. If I feel good, even if I have a pain.... that is a good day.

Was out yesterday with my number one son.... I had a lovely day, but must admit that I did feel a couple of panic *twitches*... not quite the same as the dreadful debilitating attacks I used to get... but At least mow I am aware of what is happening.

well, better get going... getting a bit tired now.
look after yourselves all of you and i will hopefully be back tomorrow.
thanks for being here all of you.
love to PAUL, BERNIE, GILL, GAIL, CAROLE, CAZ Y, JANET, ANN, CAROLINA, JOYCE, WENDY, EILEEN, MARY, SUE.... sorry if I missed you but will catch you tomorrow.
