Eileen dont apologise for the length of your post!! It's good to see you so chatty! What beautiful names your family have. Sorry so much sickness about. Steve won on last nights lottery here. £10. He borrowed £3 of his mates money which he had given Steve to look after. So as he placed his money he said if I win I will share it with Mick. So Mick will be suprised to get £3.50! ( £1.50) was the cost of his share of the tickets!

Going to see my parents now.

Love to all xx

As Gail, Ann and Sharron say, in other words, most of us on this thead know all too well how it feels to be depressed. You certainly do feel alone, even with loving people around you. Can’t express how grateful I am to Carole for starting this great thread.Wonderful idea! Those of you who send me p.m’s, mails and add their support on this thread, have helped me cope a lot.You don’t want to burden your loved ones or good friends, so this could be called a life-belt when you feel you are drowning, as it were.
Ann, my daughter who lives in Brittany phoned me on thursday to say there’s an outbreak if scarlet fever at the school where my. G.daughter Camille’s two little girls go to.Rozenn is the youngest, she had high fever for a few days, the eldest, Maëlyss, is still distinctly unwell, which is not suprising as she is quite frail. We don’t know if they have s.fever. Three small girls who played with M & R at the wedding of g.daughter Muelle do have it though. Maybe I picked something up from them? G.daughter Indra (eldest) two little boys also came down with a myseterious bug, youngest is recovering faster than his older brother, aslo not sure if it is s. fever…I honestly thought this went out with the Ark…

Spoke to daughter Fiona (went to France with her) on the phone today. She says she is still feeling a lot better about the way things went, but, like her friend, it hits her hard when she least expects it. One good bit of news. The partner of her best friend is now lying in a coffin. This may sound odd, but he had no insurance whatsoever, so F’s friend couldn’t afford a coffin. He was laid out on a table, with F’s best table cloth under him…she had to giggle a bit when saying she doesn’t think she wants it back….of course she doesn’t.It’s the funeral tomorrow, hope her friend can find some peace of mind after this, also hope J, (Fiona’s friend) finds somebody else to drive the son back and forth to his school which is very far away, or put him on a local school. F’s is doing it at present…feels the strain already, with her busy life.Friend doesn’t drive.

Apparently, I won 49 pounds on last wednesday’s lottery. My old schoolfriend thought it was a tenner…only found out how much when she took old ticket back…I won almost the same amount some years ago, also during a holiday in France. Must go there VERY soon again, may come up in the biggie, third time lucky and all that.

Sorry for the length of this post. Will keep it short from now on.
Have a lovely sunday and a good night’s sleep.

That is why I have a dishwasher, OH said it was a lot cheaper than continually replacing the crockery. PLUS, I refuse to eat from plastic, yuck.

Poor Gill.
Actually,I will worry if she doesn't post again.

Probably, most of us are sitting in solitude when we post, getting away to gather ourselves.

Poor Gail with no dishwasher.I have the old model.Ninety years old to be precise. It is on wheels and is very tempramental and not that efficient either. Most of my cups are chipped.

GranOfOzRubySlippers Report 11 Apr 2010 07:22

Have had a busy week without dishwasher, now it is finally repaired hopefully will have more time and no dishpan hand. OH has been good and the repair people did it very quickly for me, such nice people.

While we were on our journeys this week we picked up a Red Maple tree, to replace one of the many trees and shrubs we lost this year. It is in full autumn colour and so beautiful. Was a real hoot though getting it home as we only had the car, which is a hatch back, roots and pot went in the hatch part then the rest, foliage and leaves were all over my side of the car for the drive home. Could not even see OH in the drivers seat. We planted the tree on Thursday and the birds are sitting it it already. It hopefully will grow into a large tree with plenty of nesting and roosting space for the birds. Also a couple of pink flowering gum trees for the nature strip across the road, again for the wildlife, as they love the red flowering gum in our yard.

OH has been on holidays this week so not much time to myself. We managed to prune some trees and shrubs, badly needed. Still loads more to do yet, but looks a lot more tidy already. Lots of dead stuff to prune out still from the drought last year. I think we were lucky we did not loose more plants, though we did empty both rainwater tanks trying to keep them alive.

After a week with OH at home, I think I need a holiday, he has kept me very busy. He is one of those people who cannot sit still for long, but he is also great company.

Love and hugs

Gail

Hope it has been such a lovely day over there as it has been here.Sun is still shining.Always nice, especially towards evening…..

Lily, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. You have had such a hard time of it lately.Your aunty Betty’s birthday is on the exact same date as my aunty Margaret, she too, would have been 87.Can understand how you feel.
Claire, nice to see you back on the boards. Also great to ‘hear’ you all had such a lovely time on holiday together. Take care of yourself now, try get as much rest as you can.

A very kind GR member sent me a p.m today, it is someone who doesn’t post on this thread. It really got to me, she seems such a nice woman….have not had any contact with her before, she just wanted to send me her support etc. There are very many lovely, extremely kind and supportive people on GR, especially on this thread….those of you who have send p.ms, mails etc. have really helped me a lot in some very tight, depressing situations. So a big THANK YOU is needed.

claire, so pleased that you have renewed and also that you had a good holiday. These specialist places do a wonderful job don't they?

Lily, I am sorry to hear of the death of your aunt.

Hello everyone
I got round to renewing again yesterday so thought I'd show my face !
Have'nt read through all the posts but hoping that you are all ok?
Things here are ok after a very difficult few weeks.
We went away on hols last week to a specialist centre which caters for disabled children and had the most fantastic time. The children (and us) had a great time, lots of outdoor adventure activities to do. I will post some photos on facebook soon, pm me if you want to add me although I think I have most of you who are on there.
The little man is away at respite for the weekend and madam out at Grandparents so I am enjoying some much needed peace and quiet ,but really do need to get to bed soon.
No other news really, just plodding on, ad's increased again and they seem to be doing the trick thank goodness.
Be back again soon and will catch up with all your news

Lily, just a quick message to send you my sympathy on the loss of your aunt Betty, it's so sad to lose our older family members isn't it? Betty did well to reach 86 - may she rest in peace now. I am sure you have lots of fond memories of her and can maybe share them with her remaining sister.

Glad your aunt is ok Carole, glad she seems to have found a new friend already, and that your uncle was able to get her sewing set for her. Hope the new laundry equipment is soon working well for you, I am disappointed with the washing machine we bought a while back, preferred the older one we had which was much simpler to use and did the job I want, now I am tied to the programmes on this one and they all seem to take so long!

Take care all, feeling a bit snowed under with so much to do at the mo - emails and other stuff to catch up with.

love

Carole, I am sorry Clairjo hasn't renewed, maybe she will return later.

You will be having a laundry day when the new machine arrives!

Happy birthday to Aunty, glad she was able to have a nice day.

Eileen, so pleased that you are feeling better, maybe it was just tiredness getting the better of you.

Hello everyone,

Have been thinking a lot about all of you, hoping for mild weather and better health for you…wonders do still happen……
Liz, I am still taking things easy, but feel (almost) as fit as a fiddle today. Sweated it all out last night, whatever ít’ was.Lol.
Ann, male/female s.i.l confuses me at the best of times, worse when head is spinning…again. LOL.
Carole, congratulations with your aunt’s 87th birthday. Can she actually see well enough to sew? Kind of that man to give her whisky, and that she is able to enjoy a little tipple now and then. My goodness, you are having a run of bad luck, lots of expense..how are you managing without a washing machine?

My aunty would have celebrated her 88th birthday on the 28th of this month, if she had lived.
Thanks to Liz, Ann and Carole for your good wishes.

Good morning, or evening where ever you are. I have been thinking of you all every day. Not had time to even turn the computer on! I got up early this morning to get ready to go to my first proper dynamic pychology meeting. I feel like I can't be bothered with it really.

Aunt Lou was 87 yesterday we went to visit and took her a little birthday cake and a sewing set as hers had been claimed from her house, after she said if anyone wants anything they can take it! Then she asked for it to be taken to her! So uncle had got it back for her unknown to me. She looks clean and well. One man who sits with her for meals had bought her a small bottle of whiskey which was very nice of him. My sister took her to our mums and her other brother and wife also went so a little get together for them.

My washing machine broke down, just two weeks after the tumble dryer. Could do with out that expense, but it's all sent to try us. New machine is coming Saturday, and washing is piling up ready!

Did you know Clairejo hasn't renewed? I got a message on facebook. They have all been away and had a lovely time with the kids.

Get better soon Eileen.x

Eileen, I realised you shared the driving. Yes SiL is a bit confusing when it can refer to sister or son in law, I have written it myself and realised it was a bit ambiguous.

I am sorry you are feeling rough, there are a lot of these bugs here too. No doubt you caught a foreign one that you had no immunity to. Maybe a little wander round the garden in the warmth of the sun will give you a boost. Take it easy and get well soon

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 8 Apr 2010 03:46

Eileen, just give yourself a break and get rid of that bug before pushing yourself to garden etc, if you must do it and the weather is nice, just do a little bit at a time, don't want you creamcrackering yourself.

Love to all I haven't much time to reply to threads at the mo,
