Now got a page planned out of two youngest grandchildren in their school uniforms. Will keep this one fairly simple, can't do glitter as grandson would not approve Lol!!!!

Hi Ann,

Just wondering if the Cheltenham Dunhelm store stocks more craft stuff than the Goucester store? If it does, I thought that maybe the Nottingham store stocks more craft bits than the one we have here. Might be worth me looking.

I've got a few things to stick onto a page, so I'm off to do that now--need to get it done when feel like it.

Love, Sallie.xxx

If your grandsons are anything like our Richard and I should think they are, then glitter is certainly a no go area.

Hi Sallie, I think they may have had a bit more but not a lot of difference. It was better laid out though. Only a small amount compared to places like The range though.

Hello everyone...

I didn't think of looking for silk flowers...many thanks for the tip.

Dunelm and Hobbycraft are some miles away so I will have to smile sweetly to my dear OH to arrange a day out asap!

Daff...what kind of glitter do you use please...I have seen some glitter pens. See what you have started : ))

Sallie...once I had taken out the middle I found that the flower came apart quite easily.

Linda, I use stickles for glitter but I have only been able to buy it in Hobbycraft so far. I found the other type sold in tubes was too thick, and i like subtle!

Morning, a little confused today by the amount of deleted posts on this thread but I'm not with it enough for anything to confuse me.
Have just received my last subscription scrapbooking kit, took me ages to decide to cancel it but it was costing most of my crafty budget and not working as well for me as it used to. Sad though because it was so nice to know that once a month I would get a lovely box of goodies through the post

MrDaff Report 22 Feb 2010 11:32

Linda, I prefer the stickles, too... I have a problem squeezing the pens.... I also use extreme glitter, which you paint on, and which I have used as a wash on the main backing sheet, and also used the gold to *age* the torn edges of a Christmas page... it worked really well.

Then there is the old fashioned glitter... I use that if I have a lot of embellishments I want to glitter just a bit of... I have a little tray, and I dot the glue on, then chuck em all in and shake.. I use tweezers to get them out, and they dry fairly quickly... not so good for on a page though, as the glitter infiltrates places you didn't want it to go, lol

I then have some very very fine glitter... when it goes on, it is very dense, but it has an applicator that you can use for writing,,, very good for when you want to fine, but dense glitter Key letters on a title, for instance. Took me a fair bit of practice, but I am fine at it now... very expensive, but you don't use much and it should last for years...

Love

Daff... who feels very proud at being able to help someone, lololol *huge proud, beaming smile*

Hi Ann and friends, I have stickles I kept from quite a while ago, always store them upside down ,I stand the in a small box, that way they dont get clogged up...You can get lots of them on e-bay from various craft outlets...Secret is let them dry overnight if possible,

I spent yesterday sorting all my craft stuff out , I had lots of bits and pieces that I wont use so will pass them on...now I can find what I need easier, just need it to get a bit warmer then I can move into my craft room; small conservatory, although it is heated still feels too cold as yet, we dont get sun on the back until apr/may.....but can do some layout s where its warmer... happy crafting everyone....

Thanks Daff, very good.

I am so hoping that their invalid thread glitches aren't going to vaporise this thread. The deleted posts are on every thread on the board, it seems very unstable today, they are doing things. If you hold your cursor over 'message' etc above you will get drop down menus now I just hope they know what they are doing.

Please nobody delete a post, on some threads when somebody has deleted a post the whole thread has gone.

*sprinkles glitter and glue over thread to keep it stuck down*

Lol

I popped into Hobbycraft while I was waiting for my prescription... I was very good... I didn't take a basket, so I bought only what I could carry in my hands.... a little butterfly punch, some pearlised card, some ribbon..... and that was all, folks! Oh some teflon tweezers..... that was definitely all... wasn't I good?

I have started a new LO... Jethro and his sore paw, lol... he is such a character..... I do hope he is seeing the same vet this evening... he will expect his dish of milk from her!

Thanks for that tip re stickles, Jean... I shall go and put them all upside down now....

I try and store mine upside down but they need wedging, slippery little devils they are!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 22 Feb 2010 16:11

I have some polystyrene... you know, the suff they use to wedge electrical stuff into it's box... wonder if I can make stickles-sized holes in them to store? They are a bit difficult, aren't they?? I have them upside down, blu-tacked to the side of my workstation at the moment... thank goodness for blu tack, ay?

I did wonder about the double sided stick on velcro spots, but only have humongous ones lolo

polystyrene or foam with holes in might work.

Just finished the page of my grandchildren in school uniform, that one didn't take long as I didn't put too much on it.
